Unlike baseball, there were several local teams that advanced in the CIF State Nor Cal Softball Regional Playoffs.

In Division III first round action on Tuesday as shown on MaxPreps.

2 seed Las Plumas won 9-2 over Foothill (Pleasanton)

6 seed East Nicolaus upset 3 seed Rodriguez 3-2.

5 seed Chico also upset 4 seed Chowchilla in dominant fashion 12-6.

The Panthers head down to take on 1 seed Monterrey at 4 p.m. today and Las Plumas hosts East Nic in the other Regional Semifinal matchup at 3 p.m. today. The winners will advance to take on each other in the Regional Final on Saturday at 4 p.m.

In Division IV, West Valley earned a first round bye as the top overall seed and will now host 5 seed Escalon at 3 p.m. in the Regional Semifinal today for a chance to get to the Regional Final on Saturday!

Finally in Division V: 3 seed Durham beat 6 seed Lowell 12-2 to set up a matchup down at 2 seed Le Grand today at 4 p.m. to get to the Regional Final on Saturday!

Big game today! ❤️🐾🥎

After earning the 4 seed in the first round of the CIF State Nor Cal Division IV Regional Playoffs West Valley dominated 5 seed Amador 12-1 to advance to the Regional Semifinals today!

The Eagles were led by NAL MVP Senior Gunner Church’s massive grand slam going 1-2 with a run and 5 RBI’s in the victory! Senior Degan Palos also had a big day going a perfect 3-3 with a run and 2 RBI’s.

Junior SP Aiden Sweet spun another great game going a full five due to the mercy rule with 3 K’s on 4 hits and only one earned run in the win.

The Eagles are now taking on top seed Half Moon Bay with first pitch getting underway here in the next couple of minutes for the chance to get to the Regional Final on Saturday!

They were the only local baseball team among Chico in D2, Foothill in D3, and U-Prep also in D4, to make it to the Semifinals today!
