It’s that time of year when I pause and reflect on how far I’ve come since my life changed nine years ago. Back then, I couldn’t have imagined feeling the love I’ve found today—for myself. Who knew that was missing? (Not a trick questions, the therapists and psychiatrists knew 😊).

The road hasn’t always been easy, and some days it still feels never-ending. But I am deeply grateful to have a story to tell—and to still be here to tell it. "One day at a time" isn’t just a saying for me, it’s been the way I’ve survived and grown, even to this day.

The other interesting fact about Monday was just when it looked really bad for holding the fireline at Highway 431 the winds changed from SW to W and we watched as the fire begin to be pushed downhill back toward the valley as you can see in these two shots taken within 20 minutes of one another from 431 with Skytavern directly behind me less than 1/8 of a mile.
