Game Summary: Cedarcrest vs. Nathan Hale – SeaKing Round 2
Cedarcrest battled wire‑to‑wire in a physical, high‑tempo Round 2 matchup at the SeaKing Tournament, ultimately falling 60–55 to Nathan Hale despite a strong second‑half surge and standout individual performances.
First Half: Defensive Grind
The game opened with both teams trading stops and playing through heavy defensive pressure. Cedarcrest trailed 13–12 after the first quarter and entered halftime trailing 19–20 after a low‑scoring second period. The Red Wolves controlled the paint early, winning the rebounding battle and generating second‑chance opportunities behind the activity of Kiki Anderson, Avery Dice, and Stella Metcalf.
Second Half: Momentum Swings
Cedarcrest erupted for 21 points in the third quarter, their best offensive frame of the night. Metcalf and Maddie Davis pushed the pace, and the Red Wolves repeatedly broke through Hale’s first line of pressure to convert at the rim. Cedarcrest carried a 40–37 lead into the fourth.
But Nathan Hale answered with a huge final period, outscoring Cedarcrest 23–15 behind a barrage of threes and free throws from their leading scorer, Boise State commit Zia-Daye Anderson, who finished with 45 points. Despite Cedarcrest’s defensive intensity and multiple late-game stops, Hale’s perimeter shooting proved to be the difference.
