I hope that you are well and take time out this weekend to remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice in protecting us. We live in the greatest country on the planet, and we are so blessed with our rights and freedoms. It did not come without the sacrifice of millions. We should take none of these freedoms for granted. It is a time of reflection and reverence.

Friends and neighbors you will be receiving your ballot for the RCC Preference Poll from the Reston Community Center. I am running again for the Board of Governors where I am the current Vice Chair. I ask for your consideration and vote in this years election. I have had the honor of serving on the RCC Board for a number of years and we have made great progress in serving the needs of Reston's residents and the business community. RCC is a place where everyone is welcome and there is something for everyone. RCC is in the fun business.

I would ask that you also consider supporting Lisa Sechrest Erhardt who is the current Secretaty of the Board and has been involved in Reston for many years.

Our new goalie tried out her new digs this evening at the Lake Fairfax InLine rink. I think that she has a future in this game. Is there anything that she can't do?

Great morning spent at Langston Hughes Middle School and participating in Career Day. Thanks for the invitation and for all of those Reston professionals that turned out to share the experiences of their professional journey's.

We had another great day at the Senior Games in Pittsburgh and that is a wrap. Thanks to everyone that participated and especially Joe Williams for running a fantastic tournament.

Today’s exploits at the Senior Games, we won Silver in Mixed Doubles. We lost the gold on a tiebreaker by 3 points.

We are having a blast meeting up with old friends. More chances at Gold tomorrow.

Let the games begin and they did with a bang. Gina with the Silver in the 60+ Women’s Doubles . Tough matches today and congratulations to all of the players. The Senior Games are a very special event and shows to keep moving. There are over 13,000 Seniors and more than 1300 Pickleball players. looking forward to the competition the rest of the week here in Pittsburgh.

Today we celebrate emancipation and freedom. The journey continues for equity and against injustice to all marginalized peoples.
