Chelsi Dance, the founder and owner began dancing at the age of five years old at her old stomping ground, Pine Camp Recreational Center in Richmond, VA. She became one of the first dancers of their Kids Co in the Richmond City Dance Theater Competition Team. I struggled with answering the question of “so what do you do?” for some time now. I toggled between a dance teacher, educator, artist, creative…etc and nothing felt natural.
Probably because I still didn’t believe in myself yet. I was blessed with many talents from God but addressing myself to the world as what He has placed inside of me felt unreal or even false at times. Some call it the imposter syndrome. I’d say I’d agree but I also simply didn’t have faith.
From a young child I was creative, a leader, bold in standing out from the crowd. Now, I can see my works come alive right before my eyes in my profession of dance! Unbelievable right! Wrong…everything I am is because of Jesus and because nothing is impossible through him it’s definitely believable haha!
I believe I can change lives, I believe I can inspire, and I believe in Jesus who believes in me! What do you believe in?
