🌧️ WEATHER UPDATE: WE ARE A GO 🌧️
Just got off the phone with the Blue Ridge School crew.
Yes, rain is in the forecast.
No, this is not turning into a mudfest.
And no, a 40% rain icon on your weather app is not a valid excuse to stay home.
The forecast for Sunday is shaping up to be perfect racing weather - Clear skies, cool start, and hot laps.
The course has been bone dry, and right now the rain totals look more like hero dirt - Faster corners, tackier dirt, less dust. Maybe a few slick spots. Good. It’s an XCM race, not brunch gravel.
Important part:
We are NOT going to trash trails or cook your drivetrain in peanut butter mud. If conditions go sideways, we’ll make the call. Until then:
✅ Race is ON
✅ Course is in good shape
✅ BRS crew says SEND IT
✅ Last chance for XCM points before Nationals
13.75 mile laps
~1,790’ climbing per lap
Epic BRS trails and pure XCM bliss!
RVA crew - this is your state championship. Act like it.

BP Training Races kick off TONIGHT!
Tomorrow is Opening Night at BP and it’s going to be a hot one all the way around!
As always, a sincere thanks to all of you who signed up for the season pass. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to continue doing this event. We also love our day-of racers. Day of fee is $20 if you have a valid USAC license. No license? No problem. You can buy One Day Licenses on site. (Also, our friends at Full Spectrum Racing talked us into reopening BikeReg today until noon if you still want a season pass. https://www.bikereg.com/bryan-park-training-series-season-pass)
As with last year we will be putting on three races each week so our start times are as follows.
B Women will start PROMPTLY at 5:45pm. Please be rolled up to the start line at 5:40.
B Men will start at about 6:20, immediately after the women’s race completes
A Race will start about 7:00, immediately after the B Men’s race
We want to give each race as many laps as possible so throughout the season we will adjust the number of laps based on what daylight allows.
As with every year, we recommend coming out a little earlier for opening night as the first night includes registering all of the season pass holders.
Season pass holders who signed releases on line just need to pick up a number. If you signing up day of and want to save yourself a little time, print the attached waiver, fill it out, sign it and bring it with you tonight. Then you won’t have to fill one out on the back of a teammate. .
Doubling Up. There is no doubling up for the series. You can either race the B or the A, but not both. Likewise, A racers cannot use the B race to warm up.
Numbers. Cutaway has made us some awesome cloth numbers. As with every year, regardless of whether you have a season pass or will be racing week by week, the number you get on opening night is your number for the entire season. KEEP IT. You’ll need that same number every week. Phillip Robb had a shaman priest bless each one to make sure your particular number is exceptionally lucky. You need that assigned number to race. If you lose your number, no problem. We’ll issue you a new one for $5.00. You cannot, however, show up and race with a number from Storming Thunder Ridge or some used cardboard boxtop from the RVA Raceing Underground Series.
Numbers will be on the RIGHT for opening night.
Come out. Be safe. Have too much fun. Bring friends.
And be sure to thank the countless folks who will be out that to make opening night happen:
Thanks again to everyone and see you tomorrow!

🌧️ WEATHER UPDATE - WE ARE A GO 🌧️
The Virginia XCM State Championship is on!
We just got off the phone with the Blue Ridge School crew and wanted to give everyone an update heading into race week.
Yes - current forecasts are calling for some rain leading up to race day. But right now, totals are light and honestly look like just enough moisture to tighten things up on course after the recent dry conditions.
Important part:
We are NOT going to run a mudfest and destroy trails or your equipment. If conditions change significantly, we’ll communicate immediately.
Right now:
✅ Race is ON
✅ Course is in good shape
✅ We’re monitoring weather daily with the BRS crew
We also have backup dates in AUG/SEP if weather somehow goes sideways, so there’s no reason to panic-scroll forecasts all week.
Translation: stop weather stalking and get registered already. 👊

THROAT PUNCH THURSDAY PHOTOS ARE UP 🔥👊
Mother Nature rolled up lookin’ REAL disrespectful and tried to cancel race night with a last-minute monsoon ambush… but the dirt was thirsty, the course held strong, and y’all managed to suffer your way around the course like absolute animals.
Richmond bike racing remains undefeated.
