I met a couple of pilots military yesterday. Both flew combat missions over Iraq. The Navy guy flew F-14s and the Air Force guy was in A-10 Warthogs. I didn’t get too much more info out of them, though. For some reason, they kept peppering me with questions and even argued over who was going to ask the next one....

We arrived in Breck last night. I’ve been coming here off and on since the early 90s and reconnected with Kim on the internet 20 years ago this month while I was up here. Beware the ides of March, right? This time we’ve got a beautiful house a five-minute walk from historic Breckenridge Main Steet complete with heated garage and gas fireplace....

“Honey, wake up.” Kim, my wife, was shaking me out of a dead sleep. I was in the middle of a naked dream. You know, the one where you’re back in high school, naked in the hallway and can’t remember your locker combination? “Whut, whut?” I opened my eyes into deep darkness. “Someone’s in the front yard. Headlights are shining on the riding ring.” “Stop shaking me.” I grabbed her hand and stilled it. “What time is it?” Read More in Flash Fiction Magazine

For better, for worseFor richer, for poorerIn sickness and in health‘Til death do ye part She’d been thinking about those vows a lot lately. Lord knows they’d laughed, cried, slogged and danced through the first six, and now here they were – toiling away on the seventh. It was a standard line of theirs at cocktail parties that the target was seventy-five years of wedded bliss....

Thinking about Dad this morning. Big Norm passed on into The Great Beyond on this day in 2006. It wasn't the cancer that killed him, but it was complications from it. Cancer is my mission this year. To raise money for cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. They saved Norm’s life the first time around.
So I'm running my last NY City Marathon in his honor because he was a runner and even claimed to have invented jogging (I'll tell you more about that another day). Won't you help me in my mission by making a donation to MSKCC today?

I've been using these 5Ks as speed workouts. Looks like it's working! Thanks to Alan Hogan for getting me out on the trails, I believe trail running has made the biggest difference in my speed results.

Being resting my IT band all week. Got a good massage from Michele today. Going to take on the Carytown 10K this weekend and see if my PR from Monument Avenue 10K was a fluke or if it's for real. Wish me luck! 🤞
