6 Simple Ways to Use Yoga for Mental Well-Being
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, here are small, powerful ways to bring yoga into your day to support your mind:
1️⃣ Start Your Day with Breathwork
3–5 minutes of deep breathing (like box breathing or alternate nostril) can calm anxiety and boost focus.
2️⃣ Practice One Grounding Pose
Try Child’s Pose, Legs Up the Wall, or Mountain Pose anytime you feel overwhelmed.
3️⃣ Pair Movement with Journaling
After class or home practice, write down one thing your body or mind is trying to tell you.
4️⃣ Do a Gentle Flow in Nature
Take your mat outside—even just 10 minutes in the park can regulate your nervous system.
5️⃣ Use Yoga as a Screen Break
Between meetings or errands, pause for 3 sun breaths or a standing forward fold.
6️⃣ Join a Class and Be in Community
Connection is healing. Come breathe, move, and be held in a space that welcomes all of you.
