Moving from New Mexico to Vermont in March has kept us busy. In addition, we had Lily’s wedding in June. Now, I feel like it is time to start teaching Essentrics in person again. My Zoom classes haven’t stopped and will continue but I am ready to start sharing Essentrics with the beautiful state of Vermont in person. 🍁
I have started the leg work of finding the right location for classes. I will be in and around the Poultney and Rutland area. If you know of the perfect place feel free to comment. I like to keep my prices as low as possible so that I can reach more people. Overhead or rent will be a factor in my decision.
This movement program is so amazing that I think every BODY should be doing it 😉

Try to avoid mindless eating. With a little forethought you can balance your meals for a healthier life!
I love my morning bowl of fruit and the blueberry oatmeal walnut bars I make every few weeks and then freeze. That and a cup of green tea start my day off right.
What is your favorite healthful meal?

If we don’t eat phytonutrient-rich plant foods—like fruits and vegetables—with every meal, then, for hours after we dine, our bodies are out of balance and tipped into a pro-oxidative state, which can increase risk of oxidative-stress diseases. The free radicals in our body can oxidize the fats in our blood, for example, and set us up for heart disease.

Ideally, we should eat as many phytonutrient-rich foods as we can. At the very least, we should eat enough antioxidants to counter the oxidation of digestion (8,000 to 11,000 antioxidant units a day). The average American doesn’t even get half of the minimum recommended daily antioxidants! No wonder oxidative stress-related diseases abound. We’re getting so few antioxidants in our diet that we can’t even keep up with the free radicals created just digesting our meals.

Berries are the most healthful fruits, due in part to their pigments, and are second only to herbs and spices as the most antioxidant-packed food category. As a group, they average nearly 10 times more antioxidants than other fruits and vegetables, and have in excess of 50 times the antioxidants in animal-based foods. Including a minimum of a half cup of berries each day is one way to be sure to maximize our antioxidant intake.

Adhering to just four simple healthy lifestyle factors—not smoking, maintaining a healthy body weight, exercising, and following a healthy diet (eating a lot of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and less meat)—could potentially have a strong impact on the prevention of chronic diseases. We’re talking nearly 80 percent less chronic disease risk and slashing diabetes risk by 93 percent, dropping heart attack risk by 81 percent, cutting stroke risk in half, and reducing cancer risk by 36 percent.

Researchers estimated that following a healthy lifestyle could add more years to your life, even from 50 years of age. How many more years? If you’re 50 right now and take just basic care of yourself, instead of living only to 79 if you’re a woman and 75½ if you’re a man, you could enjoy an average life expectancy of 93 if you’re a woman and 87½ if you’re a man. That's an extra 14 years for women and 12.2 years for men!

In the United States alone every year, there are a half million heart attacks, a half million strokes, a million new cases of diabetes, and a million new cancer diagnoses. The potential for preventing disease and death from chronic diseases is enormous.

Happy New Year! It’s that time again. Often with the start of a new year, we think about making changes to improve the quality of our life.  The best change I have found is the dynamic movement program called Essentrics. I used to be in pain from my killer workouts every day. It wasn’t no pain, no gain, it was pain all the time. I started Essentrics and it was life-changing! The chronic neck, knee, hip and shoulder pain is gone. Oh, and did I mention my feet. I have no pain and a now have a bounce in my step. Health and fitness is about balance with Essentrics. We strengthen, elongate (think stretch), work on our balance, all in an effort to re-balance our entire body. Rebalancing the body helps alleviate pain. This program works! Check it out!

Happy Fall!! I just wanted to check in and let you know that I am starting a new Essentrics Movement class that is perfect for loosening up tight muscles and joints. The program is a little slower allowing us to work deep into our fascial tissues, open up our stiff joints and move to the end point in our range of motion. The class is a bit more focused so you can be sure you are in correct alignment during each move; this technique is most beneficial for unlocking and rebalancing the body leading to pain relief. I look forward to sharing this beneficial movement class with you.

My favorite breakfast. Vegan Blueberry bars, berries and green tea with matcha and non dairy milk.
I have included the recipe from the Forks Over Knives magazine. I make a batch and cut them into smaller bars than they suggest and put them in the freezer. When I want breakfast I take one out defrost it for 35 seconds in the microwave and it’s ready to go. Healthy eating can be easy.

Move With Diane Essentrics will be offering Aging Backwards classes starting Sept. 6th.
Aging Backwards is a class similar to Essentrics Lengthen and Strengthen classes but it is even more gentle. This class is designed to help people who want movement classes that are a bit slower paced. We focus on range of motion, balance, mobility and gently building up strength. Gentle dynamic movement is great for freeing up stiff joints and tight muscles. It has been know to reduce the aches and pains of immobility.
The class will be held at the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center on Tuesdays from 10:15 to 11:00AM.

Since I retired I have been busy promoting my Move with Diane dynamic movement classes. I have a hard time not working. So I decided to start making Fridays my FUN day.
First, I went an got my Shingles shot ( definitely NOT the fun part). 😳
But, next I decided to do something I ❤️ love.
I love paint, color and painting furniture.

Try to add more plant based foods to your diet. They do a body good! It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing approach. Introduce the change a little at a time.

Happy August Folks
Evening Zoom classes are starting up again today. In addition, I am also now offering 2 mornings a week on Zoom.
Moving your body each week will keep you healthy, strong and able to move freely without pain. If you currently have pain regular sessions will help tremendously at reducing it and giving you back the ability to move and live your best life.
Every fitness level is welcome and will benefit.
Beginners to athletes all love what Dynamic Movement does for their body.
