[04/29/20]   Just received word that Rio Rancho Aquatic Center is cancelling our May 16, 2020 Adaptive Kayaking Open House. Completely understandable considering they don't know for sure whether they'll be allowed to open up. Spread the word please and I'll post on our website too.
Be safe and hopefully we'll be in business in June.

This might be a fun activity. Online art classes today at noon.

Please share:

Due to school closures, I will be offering free art lessons on our page each weekday until our kiddos return to school. These will be family oriented for a range of ages and utilize supplies typically found in your home.

Creativity can ease stress, expedite learning & allow us to see circumstances in different ways. Since we will all be home gathered together over the next few weeks unexpectedly, it is the perfect time to discover and grow new talent! We will be offering take home kits from the studio for additional lessons beginning next Wednesday.
I always pull from my classical training as a BFA studio art major and 25 years as a professional artist, but also love to introduce process learning- In other words- I like to show you how to do it AND get messy!

Join us at 1pm CT this Monday for our first lesson!
Hint: For Monday, gather plain paper, a baking sheet, cooking spray/oil and pencils...we will be drawing faces!

[03/13/20]   The Rio Rancho Aquatic Center has been shut down through April 5, 2020. Consequently our April 4, 2020 Adaptive Kayaking Open House has also been cancelled. We are not allowed to schedule any open houses until the weekend of April 5, 2020. Stay safe and healthy everyone.

[03/13/20]   After much thought and deliberation, we have decided to cancel this month's Adaptive Kayaking Open House this Saturday, March 14, 2020. We feel it would be irresponsible for us to host the open house in light of the state wide efforts and other event closures meant to reduce the spread of the corona virus.

Our next scheduled open houses are April 4, 2020 and May 16, 2020.

Thank you for understanding

[03/12/20]   As of today, Kayak New Mexico's open house continues to be scheduled for this Saturday 6-8pm at the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center. We ask all participants and volunteers to be responsible and make the decision that is best for their family.

Many of our participants and volunteers are in groups more susceptible to illness. If you have exhibited any signs of illness within 48 hours of the event, we ask that you not attend this session.

Please note that we will continue to review the situation and if anything changes we will be sure to post this by 2pm Saturday. Jane will also call all participants to make sure they are aware of the cancellation.

The Rio Rancho Aquatic Center is still open for business, but they have told us that they will call Jane if they must cancel events.

Jane will be sending out invoices today, all payments will be refunded if the event is cancelled. If you would rather pay at the door, please bring cash or a check. We do not accept credit cards at the door.

Thank you for understanding.
