The Arabian Horse Association Rose Parade riders and versatile Arabian horses epitomized THE MAGIC IN TEAMWORK, this year’s theme. Former AHA president Nancy Harvey provided experienced leadership throughout, maintaining the delicate balance of good humor and fun, while executing a precision operation under the adverse conditions of almost continuous rain. The parade prep was chilling. Literally. But as endurance riders Gayle Pena, my Rose Parade Mentor and friend, and I handled it well. We managed to stay warm tho wet. Anna Wolfe’s Rushcreek Aubie, my darling mount was a saint. The parade was absolutely thrilling. I expected the crowd to be thin but was surprised to see a big rain poncho covered exuberant crowd smiling, cheering and wishing the riders Happy New Year. I am truly energized and inspired by an amazing crowd of rich and poor, every ethnic group imaginable, young and old, families, and a even a few homeless, all hopefully cheering in the New Year. Two full hours on horseback with lots of holiday cheer is great way to bring in the New Year! Happy New Year from White Horse Ranch. Let’s ride on to a peaceful and prosperous 2026.

WHR LimiTED Edition keeps happily performing. Ted loves his job. Special Thank You to Annie Wang for this lovely video❤️

Longevity is the ultimate achievement in endurance: having a happy, healthy horse over many miles and years. WHR LimiTed Edition (Teddy) is almost 18 and in the best shape of his life. He’s an endurance veteran, 100 mile/ FEI 3* horse, capable of both mountain and flat competitions. He’s won many Best Condition Awards over his lifetime! It takes a village to make this happen - a team of dedicated, knowledgeable and experienced endurance people. We came in 2nd place (only 12 mins behind 1st place). Best of all Teddy won Best Condition! Pure joy is riding a racebred Arabian who loves their job and is just as competitive as you are! Normally Ted is very good at listening but when we get permission to pass the group in our leapfrog exercise it’s hard to control ourselves! 😝 As soon as I bring him to the side of the group and even THINK about speeding up and passing, we both get so excited and gallop off! White Horse Ranch experienced a successful weekend at Wild West, with Annie/Ted and Mary/Rivera completing the FEI 2* on May 30th. Annie and Limited Edition (Ted) secured a well-deserved first place in the senior division. Mary and WHR Rivera were awarded second place, with Rivera also achieving Best Condition with a CRI of 56/48. This was a challenging ride, with hot temperatures, but lots of shade and breathtaking scenery. We extend our gratitude to all involved in the preparation and ex*****on of the ride, including the AERC Wild West ride management,Nicole Wertz for her considerable efforts, the FEI officials, and the numerous volunteers, including our crew, who are supporting the diverse goals of both national and international riders alike. 👏
