Renaissance Martial Arts, Rochester NY

Ok, let's try this again with the correct dates! Join us on September 20th and 21st for this year's Renaissance Martial Arts Festival! More details in the weeks to come.

Our collective martial arts family is in mourning over the passing of our beloved friend and instructor, Sifu Eric Winfree. We first met Sifu Winfree at a Dan Inosanto seminar back in 1998 and he quickly became a part of our martial arts family. He was an exceptional martial artist and teacher, and an even more remarkable human being.

Please send your thoughts to his students and family Water's Edge Martial Arts. Also a celebration of his life is set for this Thursday, July 10th, at Well of Hope Church,1640 South Ave., Syracuse NY, at 10 am.

The RMAF has been cleared for an official date for all the festivities Sept 20th and 21st. Same format as the last few years. Sat 12 to 6 for activities then a dinner later. Sunday 9 to 1 more fun to be had.

The Saratoga Martial Arts Festival is coming up fast! April 11,12 and 13 is right around the corner.
Sunday March 23 rd is the last day to pre reg and get a super awesome T-shirt. Registration will continue on for the next 2 weeks but we have to commit to the number of t-shirts for the event by Monday.
We will order a few additional t-shirts that will be available at the event. Those can be fought over via the normal Game of Death protocols :)

Just a month away for the Renaissance Martial Arts Festival.
Looking forward to seeing everyone for some awesome cross training and spending that quality time with all of our friends and family.
Speaking about that...We may see some long distance peeps that we have not seen for a number of years.:) Currently making threats,I mean talking with a few people to get them to the party.
Remember we start at 12pm on Saturday the 14 th and go till 6pm ish. Then dinner together around 7:30/8:00. Sunday goes from 9am to 1 pm if we last that long. LoL
Reach out and let us know if you are planning on coming. Working on dinner plans and a location to handle what ever size group we may have. There is no registration other than letting us know you are showing up.

Just a quick update/clarification about the up coming RMAF...
It is in fact Sept 14 th and 15 th of this year 2024 and could be next year on the 13th and 14th in 2025...lol...
Any way come join us for the training and the fun we always have.
Remember we all train together with one person at a time sharing...Family Style...
The schedule does not get made till we are all together on Sat morning.

Random SMAF info up dates etc.
Steve Pearlman is teaching a seminar on bojutsu at the event. Soo bring a bo if you are thinking of participating. He will have a few available for those with out them.
Schedule is almost done. We are trying to make it available on the website and FB and etc etc for everyone.
The structure for this year is Saturday morning has 4 time slots and 3 instructors per slot.
Same for Saturday afternoon.
Sunday has the same set up for the morning.
As of right now, all instructors are teaching twice on Saturday and then once on Sunday.
There will be a weapons(weapons based)seminar in each time slot. Sticks and blades and that awesome Irish Stick as well!
We are keeping on line registration open. There are no t-shirts or meals available for on line purchase.
We may have some t-shirts available (well definitely some XLs for sure) for sale during the event. A few lunches and dinners might be able to be purchased if they let us add them. TBD at this point. The hotel will have a breakfast sandwhich and drink morning special for SMAFers available in the restaurant on Saturday morning.
Check in/registration will happen on Friday night 6 to 8ish in the back lobby.
Doors open at 7 am on Saturday for check in/registration. We are having our SMAF group greeting at 8 and then it's time to rock!!!. Same for Sunday.

Hello fellow SMAF people.
We have been able to get a bit of an extension for the t-shirt and pre-registration deadline!!
We now have till 3/31 to be able to get a t-shirt ordered along with the early registration deals.
So take advantage of the extra few days to get signed up. We have also extended the hotel room deal till 04/01 after that the special price for the rooms will no longer be available.
Things are lined up and we are excited to see all of you soon.
