Senior Spotlight 💫

Stella Beatty, a senior at Lourdes high school was one of the first athletes to start at XL Sports MN. It’s been incredible watching her put in work season after season and grow into the athlete and person she is today. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments and we know you will crush what’s next.

What sports did you play through out high school? And what accomplishments are you most proud of
- I was in Soccer all four years. I am most proud of the team chemistry that I got to be a part of, and an undefeated soccer season my senior year (until the end).

What college are you going to and what are you planning to major in? Are you playing any sports in college?
- I am going to the University of St. Thomas where I will be majoring in Accounting. I might join the club soccer team.

What’s your favorite XL Drill/movement/workout?
- My favorite workout at XL is when conditioning is light🙂. And for lift, any type of squats are my favorite.

What’s your advice to young up and coming athletes?
- Stay dedicated!! You never regret going to the gym.

What did you like about XL the most?
- I enjoyed having a coach that cared about my goals just as much or more than I did. I loved having extra time to hang with my sisters/friends at the gym, and all of the laughs and memories that came out of it.

Senior Spotlight 💫

We wanted to take a moment to highlight one of our seniors at XL, Drew Clausen from Mayo High School. Throughout her time at XL Sports, Drew has continued to grow as an athlete through her hard work, consistency, and dedication. We’re proud to be a part of her journey and can’t wait to see what’s ahead for her!

What sports did you play through out high school? And what accomplishments are you most proud of?

-I was in Track and Field and Dance. I am most proud of being able to balance it all, learning what to prioritize when, and to have earned 8 total varsity letters along the way.

Where are you going to college, what are you majoring in, and are you playing any sports?

-I am attending Middle Tennessee State University with an undecided major. I am also committed to their dance team!!

What’s your favorite XL Drill/movement/workout?

-My favorite XL movement is probably the ski machine. Honestly anything other than the echo bike 🫣 and burpees.

What’s your advice to young up and coming athletes?

-Stay disciplined and consistent. That’s truly the only way you’ll see results.

What did you like about XL the most?

-I really enjoyed the balance at XL. You are held to high expectations and pushed hard everyday but also get to crack jokes and have fun along the way!

The 5-10-5 measures how efficiently an athlete can decelerate, change direction, and reaccelerate under control.

Most sports movements happen in short bursts with rapid change in direction, and not just straight-line sprinting. World class movement comes from mastering these transitions.
