It’s an important factor, regardless of what we’re doing.
It can help or hinder.

THE REAL SECRET TO EXPERIENCING JOY
Do you ever wonder what it would be like to experience joy on a more regular basis? Do you find yourself thinking it's just not possible?
It IS possible!
We are always telling our brain what to look for, be it something wanted or unwanted. This is where our power is!
Constant complaining, making excuses, being offended and gossiping tell the brain that's what we're looking for.
Take that one step further. Looking for things we're grateful for, that please us, inspire us, or make us just plain feel good tell the brain to look for more of that. That's when the inspiration comes in, we see the possibilities, opportunities pop up, and we experience more joy!
Put simply, whatever we "feed" the brain by way of our thoughts has the power to "rewire" the brain or keep us feeling stuck, frustrated, angry or sad.
Think of it as planting a seed. When we plant a seed of corn we expect to get corn, not a cactus.
As we're being mindful of the seeds we're planting we can expect to experience more joy!
Our Power to Create Change
We are powerful. Each and everyone of us. We may feel powerless in light of what's been going on around the world for the past several months or what's recently been happening across our country, but we truly do have the power to create change.
The change first begins within ourselves. A good place to start is by practicing metta.
What is metta?
Metta is a word meaning loving-kindness, goodwill, benevolence, fellowship, and non-violence. It is the act of holding the intention of the welfare and happiness of others and is void of self-interest.
It involves tapping into a warm-hearted feeling of community, sympathy and love, which can harness the power to overcome social, religious, racial, political and economic barriers. Metta is universal, all inclusive, unselfish.
Did you know it only takes seven people meditating on loving kindness to reach roughly 5,000 people?
That's right, your intention to extend loving kindness has the power to reach and effect others.
As you're getting ready to fall asleep, I invite you to tap into the Universal, unconditional love within your heart and extend it out into your community, across the country, and around the globe.
