Dear CrossFit Center City Family,

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and member, Michael “Mike” Jones, on August 29, 2026.

Michael came to NY from California to continue his studies and work at the Eastman School of Music and the MK Ghandi Institute for Nonviolence. We will always remember his love of music, his genuine kindness, passion for lifting heavy, the best dance moves and the biggest smile. His warmth and kind spirit filled the gym.

CrossFit Center City is more than a place where we work out. We are a family. We will continue to come together to honor Michael, remember the moments we shared with him and support one another through this loss.

Please hold Michael’s family and loved ones close in your thoughts during this difficult time.

I am working on further plans with the Eastman School to celebrate and honor Michael’s life. I will continue to update everyone as we solidify any details with them or I hear anything further with services.
