You’ve been a blessing to these boys!

After a few days to reflect.. thoughts on our first year of travel ball:

God is so good! 🙌🏻

It has been a lot of work.. and it’s all been worth every second.

We have a family, not a team. Our boys all go to school in the same school district, the same churches, they’ve been playing sports together since they were 5, they are best friends outside of sports, player siblings are brothers and sisters of the whole team, our parents don’t only pull for their child but for every player on the team.. I can go on for days..

We’ve had 0 “tryouts”
We haven’t cut any players
All of our players have prayed in front of a group!
One player was baptized this season.
90% of teams we played have prayed with us at the mound!
We had one team and coaches join us for church at the field on a Sunday before our game.
We had a parent volunteer to lead church at the field.
Our players were constantly praised by umpires and other coaches for the sportsmanship and conduct on/off the field.

We don’t have a million dollar indoor facility.
We don’t have “ex pro” coaches.
We don’t promise that kids will be college players if they play with us.

What we do have:
Coaches who love Jesus
Coaches who love to pour into our players.. not just baseball. Life lessons, faith, holding themselves accountable, work ethic, when to apologize, how to hold their head high, how to battle through adversity, and so much more.

We have players who love each other. Players who live to compete. Players who want to be teachers, pastors, Christian singers, basketball players and more.

It’s been a blessed year to say the least! And I haven’t mentioned any baseball stats yet!

Here is what we accomplished on the field..

23-10 for the 9u season
5-4 Fall season
18-6 Spring season - 6 tournaments 4 gold bracket championship games. 2 gold bracket championships, 2 gold bracket runner up (one was a 10u tournament). One tournament that we didn’t make the gold bracket championship was a 1 day tournament and we went 2-0. The other was a 10u tournament that we got our tails whooped!

Every single one of our 10 players were name PG all tournament at some point this season!!

My prayer is that we can continue to pour into these boys and watch them grow into young leaders in our community. I pray that we can keep this group together for years to come. I pray that when a team plays RHE, they see something different… I pray they see the light, joy and love of Jesus!

A short one month break then we start our 10u season in the fall. Although I will enjoy a short break, I’m already itching to drag the field, put together a practice plan, have a one on one with a player..

Our little slugger, Gabe, won tournament MVP this past weekend in Myrtle Beach!

Gabe went 5-5 with 3 doubles in the championship game!!

For the tournament, Gabe had 11 hits, 4 doubles and 8 RBI. What a weekend!

God was on full display today at the PG tournament in Myrtle Beach! 🙌🏻

So many learning moments, growing moments, teachable moments and the good Lord had a hand in all of it! So many things we discussed in our “church at the field” came into play today.

Your RHE boys battled to another gold bracket championship and fell just short.

Won Game 1 - 10-9 in extra innings
Lost in the championship game - 21-19 in extra innings!!

We lost to the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Wood Ducks! And man, seeing the power of two teams who love Jesus and put him first in everything they do… was priceless. We gathered together after the incredible game and prayed together and everyone held their heads high. They held their heads high, because we all know that our sins are bought and paid for by the blood of Jesus!

That’s a wrap for RHE and it’s 9u year. These boys are just scratching the surface of their potential. See you in the fall!

The Eagles traveled down to Myrtle Beach for our last tournament of this season. Saturday was a great start, as the boys earned the #1 seed in the gold bracket. Today, the boys will work hard to bring home a championship!

Game 1 - 1:00pm

When RHE plays on a Sunday, we meet at the field early to have church with the players, families, friends and whoever else wants to join us!

Today we will be discussing:

Both teams we played on Saturday, joined us in prayer at the mound. RHE had two different players lead everyone in wonderful worship and prayer! Our prayer is that anyone we play today will also join us at the mound!

As one of our players (Josh) always says, when you do your best, God will do the rest!
