Energy, effort, and enthusiasm! The three constants you can always expect to find at any of our Park District sports programs, leagues, or camps. Our guest coaches brought all three to the JR. WNBA camp held this past weekend. πŸ€ Many were once young athletes just like the participants, and their excitement to give back was inspiring!

JR. WNBA is the global home for girls, where basketball fuels whole-girl growth on and off the court.

The WNBA sees basketball as more than a game – through the Jr. WNBA, we design programming, coaching and community experiences that help girls build skills, growth with confidence, and stay connected for life.

This platform was created to KEEP GIRLS IN THE GAME by making basketball a space where they can grow, connect, and come back season after season.

Thanks to RPD Youth Sports Team, Gene Houston, and all the volunteer coaches!!

This ICJIA Funded program is 100% FREE for girls in our community!

Earlier today, we were joined by the Chicago Bears outreach team to once again host our Spring Break Monsters Flag Football Camp! 🏈

Our athletes had the opportunity to interact with law enforcement officers from the Loves Park Police Department, Rockford Police Department, and Rockford Park District Police. Former Bears player Jason McKie was also there to encourage the kids and leave them with a positive message as they head back to school next week!

πŸ€ One week ago, Fred VanVleet and the VanVleet Family Foundation gave kids from across our Youth Sports programs an all-exclusive trip to the United Center in Chicago to watch the Rockets take on the Bulls. We greatly appreciate everything Fred and his foundation do for our community and the incredible role they play in inspiring and shaping the next generation!

Monday night, kids from across our Youth Sports programs were invited to the Houston Rockets vs. Chicago Bulls game πŸ€. The VanVleet Family Foundation funded the experience, including transportation, food and drinks, and a pregame courtside experience. After the game, the kids had the chance to meet the person who made it all possible!

Thank you to the VanVleet Family Foundation for supporting our youth and continuing to make a huge impact in our city.

Our Rockford Wolves Football coaches attended the Glazier Football Clinic today. There truly is no off-season for our volunteer coaches as they continue preparing for the upcoming football season. It’s important that our coaches keep learning, growing, and developing their knowledge of the game so they can provide the best experience possible for our young athletes. Registration is Open for the upcoming season!
