Some of my favorite parts of racing have very little to do with what happens on the track.

It’s pictures like this.

A camper full of kids, shoes everywhere, everyone piled on the floor, laughing, playing, talking about racing, and just being kids.

We spend a lot of time talking about wins, finishes, speed, setups, and getting better. But the older I get, the more I realize this is the part I hope they remember.

The friendships. The families. The time together. The people who become part of your weekends and eventually part of your life.

Racing gives our kids something to work for. It teaches them how to compete, how to lose, how to win, how to help somebody else, and how to keep showing up. But somewhere along the way, it also gives them a whole community of people growing up right beside them.

Someday the karts will be parked, the trophies will collect dust, and we probably won’t remember every race or every finish.

But I hope they remember days like this.

And I know I will. 🏁❤️

Today is the day! Sully and crew will be at Lightning Speedway for the Northstar Nationals! The weather is looking great, and the kart was flying last night in practice! Confidence is high and we're looking to have a great weekend of racing! See you there!

Thursday, September 10th is practice night! $50 per car. All crew members are FREE. Practice will run from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Grandstands will be FREE to the public.

🏁🏆 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐖𝐈𝐍 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 #𝟗𝟓! 🏆🏁

This is one we’ll remember for a long, long time.

After all the laps, learning, hard work, frustrating nights, close calls and time spent at the track and in the garage, 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐖𝐈𝐍!

As Mom and Dad, we couldn’t be more proud.

Of course we’re proud to see him standing in Victory Lane, but we’re even more proud of everything it took to get there. He has continued to learn, stayed determined, and kept working even when things didn’t go his way.

Racing can teach you a lot about patience, perseverance and earning your moments — and tonight he earned this one.

Seeing the smile on his face and getting to celebrate together as a family made it even more special.

We also know none of this happens without a lot of people behind the scenes. We are incredibly thankful for everyone who has helped, encouraged, supported and believed in Sully and the #95.

Well - it only wants to rain in race days apparently! We will let everyone know our plans for the next race, but as of right now, it’ll be next Friday at Lightning Speedway.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit Lightning Speedway this year, it’s a fantastic weekend to come and see what’s happening! Sully will be racing both nights. Mississippi Thunder Speedway is also hosting a full card tonight, featuring Late Model and Spectator races! We’re looking forward to seeing you this weekend!

⚡🏁 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟕 — 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝟐𝟎𝟔 𝐖𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒! 🏁⚡

Lightning Speedway is excited to announce that we’re adding a 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟔 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 for the 2027 season!

This will be a new class designed to give young racers another opportunity to develop their skills, compete, and keep progressing at Lightning Speedway.

The final class structure is still being developed. Age ranges and rules for tires, clutch, weight, slide, and other details will be finalized after testing and collaboration with racers and track officials.
