April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and, in Rome, we have grown accustomed to seeing the blue pinwheels in town. "In 2008, Prevent Child Abuse America introduced the pinwheel as the new national symbol for child abuse prevention through Pinwheels for Prevention®. What our research showed, and what our experiences since then have borne out, is that people respond to the pinwheel. By its very nature, the pinwheel connotes whimsy and childlike notions. In essence, it has come to serve as the physical embodiment, or reminder, of the great childhoods we want for all children."

The Om symbol. When singing Om it is believed to be the purest sound vibration in the universe. Try it. Experience the reverberations of this beautiful mantra. Breathe in deeply. Draw in the healing sound vibrations of the universe. As you sing this mantra, the sound comes on your exhale. Release your healing vibrations back into the universe. Namaste.

Putting on music is an option for you. Some people prefer silence. The session will end at 11:45. Put your phones on 'do not disturb' and set a timer for 45 minutes. Sit with your breath during the session. If you get distracted by thoughts- come back to your breath. No judgement. I will use the 3 Reiki symbols for Reiki level 2. Your mind, body, and spirit will intuitively draw in the healing you need. As you, too, release your vibrations of healing into the Universe. After the session, sit in stillness as long as you feel. When you get up get another drink of water. Namaste.

Our thoughts are the dialogue response to our emotions. Our in-breath directly affects signals in our brain.
Using our in-breath brings accurate emotional recognition. Our in-breath allows us to discern our thoughts in response to our emotions. Over our thoughts in reaction to our emotions.
Our in-breath is the remote control to our thoughts.
The mind in fast forward brings fear and worry. The mind in rewind creates regret, anger, imaginary dialogue.
The mind in play can bring judgement.
The mind in slow motion brings mindfulness.
Remember, if you are joining me for Reiki- wash your hands in cold water before. Drink a glass of cold water. Find a quiet place. Music is optional. Sit with your breath. Namaste.

Yoga is a science. A sacred science even. Yoga is not a religion. It is a spiritual practice of discovering the layers of energy your body is capable of radiating and receiving. These energies create mindfulness. Mindfulness is an energy, in and of itself, that creates peace, clarity and insight.

I was talking to a friend last night. I mentioned God. She responded with, "Wait. I didn't think you believed in God". I smiled and responded, "Whom you call God I call the Divine. We all live under the same sun, the same moon, the same stars, the same universe, the same God as we understand Him". I was blessed a while back of being invited to teach meditation to a Catholic women's group. There is a beauty in the Spiritual practice of meditation, yoga and Reiki. You very often see or hear me use the Sanskrit word Namaste. Namaste means The Divine in me sees and honors the Divine in you. There has never been a war in the name of Buddhism or yoga. Namaste.

If you want to participate in this morning's distance Reiki; we will start at 11:00. Remember to wash your hands with cold water, have a drink of water before we start. All you need do is sit quietly with your breath. Keeping it kind, keeping it comfortable take a deep breath. Focus on the vibrations of your in breath. Notice the cool sensation that starts at the tip of your nose and travels down the back of your throat. Experience the contraction of your muscles as your chest rises. Draw the breath down into your belly. Pause briefly at the top of your in breath. Embrace the vibration grace of your breath. Each breath we are given is a gift. Gently release your breath. On the exhale experience your body relaxing. The muscles releasing. The soft, warm passage of breath over your upper lip. And at the bottom of your out breath you sink into a calming place where your entire body is relaxed. This is the practice of one conscious breath. This is meditation. This is where we discover our Reiki. Namaste.

[04/14/20]   The storms last night detoured my day. I will do distance Reiki tomorrow at 11: 00 a.m. EST. My goal is to be livestreaming before the end of the week to teach the practice of Reiki. Until then, trust your Spirit. Thank you for your patience. Namaste.

[04/13/20]   I'm sorry but I have to cancel this morning's Reiki session. I have minor damage from last night's storm. A limb came down on some wires to the house. So far I still have internet. The cable is attached but hanging low over the road. I need to arrange to have repairs. If I disappear for a day or so it is because someone ripped the wire before I could get it replaced. Namaste.

I'm setting the intention to use this time of isolation to share the beauty of the practice of yoga, meditation and Reiki.

I love this message. There is no ego in Spirituality. No expectations. Ego. Expectations. Bring our suffering. When our first thought reaction to a situation is, "Uh, no"! That is suffering. Instead, breathe into the emotion. Just be with it, as if it is a crying infant seeking attention. This is where we see our disappointment, our fear, without being disappointed or fearful. Spirit, the Holy Spirit, knows no ego, no expectations, no disappointment and no fear. The bible tells us the first thing our Divine did was breathe life into Adam. Our breath is a prayer. One conscious breath connects to Spirit. Breathe. Namaste.

Let's look at the word universe. We see that it’s made up of 2 words:
uni = one verse = song
universe = one song
What does this mean?
Everything in the universe is a note in the one song. Rocks, flowers, trees, animals, cars, buildings, and of course, humanity.
Some things play soft, almost imperceptible notes - others play their notes much louder.
Humanity is a major contributor to the melody of the one song.
There are times when the one song has some very sour notes. In the past, times of war and major catastrophic events produced sour notes.
We are currently living in one of those times. The one song has sour notes, the melody is
off key.
Every day the news doesn't get much better, the melody is harsh and there is an air of
fear and worry.
We are justified. If we are not a little fearful or worried we may be reckless and put our lives and the lives of our loved ones in danger.
What is the answer?
How do we change the sour notes back to beautiful ones? How do we bring harmony back to the melody?
The answer can be found in 3 things we can all do

Be Grateful
When faced with great difficulty, it’s hard to remember that we still have good things in our lives. Even if there doesn’t seem to be many, we can be grateful for the good things. We can try to focus on them instead of dwelling on the difficulties.

Be Kind
Every person is fighting their own battle. We have no idea how everyone else is doing and judging them for their actions does not help. Sometimes a simple kind word is all that that’s needed to brighten someone’s day.

Serve
Be of service to someone else as much as possible. Grand deeds are not necessary, small gestures are appreciated just as much. Often if we are feeling bad, making someone else feel better can make us better too.
Let’s all try to keep these 3 things in mind and practice them as much as possible every day.
Gratitude, Kindness, Service
We can all sweeten our note in the melody of the one song a little more every day.
Together we can make the whole melody sweet and help our world heal.
