I love this!

This morning's practice was focused on flexibility and hanumanasana (splits). Many people ask me how long it will take them to get into the splits, or what can they do to get there faster, or "why can't I do the splits?!?" I usually let them know that it can take a long time or a short time...depending on anatomy and how often they practice. But the question I like to ask is "what's the hurry??" I remember one of my first teachers (@janetstoneyoga) saying that it doesn't ever matter how deep you get into splits (or any pose) because when you get all the way down, there's no enlightenment there....in fact, it's just your sweaty yoga mat! πŸ˜‚ True!!! It's not about the pose. It's about showing up, breathing, moving, quieting your mind and feeling good about yourself. Check out my pic. I'm not all the way down in a split, plus I didn't get all the way to my mat when I practiced this morning either, AND I still like myself! πŸ˜‚ Btw- join me!
