Frank "Lindy" Fancher was born May 19, 1919 in rural Hart County, Kentucky, the son of Ben Fancher a To***co farmer.

In October of 1940, he enlisted in the 106th Cavalry Illinois National Guard and entered Federal Training on December 6th 1940.
