🔒& that’s a wrap on our regular 2026 club racing season at North Carolina Quarter Midget Association (NCQMA)! see below for a raceday recap and enjoy the memory lane photos from this season!
💚 jarett had his senior honda debut. he laid down a qualifying lap placing him 11th in a field of 16 drivers. this gave him a P8 starting position in the lower main to fight for a transfer spot in the feature race. first lap in, there was an incident that he just couldn’t avoid and clipped the back bumper of a car that had spun out. this caused him to bend the shaft of his left front shock and he had ZERO suspension in the front of his car. pit crew dad told him to race it out and, even though he got lapped, he finished this race cleanly despite the adversity he was facing. we didn’t move into this feature race, but we’re so proud of him for keeping his fire and fighting hard to stay in it till the end.
💜 chloe’s heavy honda debut had a similar end but she also ran a beautiful race. she qualified 10th out of a field of 13 which gave her a P4 start in her lower main. a friend of ours got into chloe, causing her to spin out and bending several of her radius rods and knocking the toe completely out of her car. on the single file restart, she had a lapse of memory and came below the yellow which sent her back two spots. despite this, she got herself back together, kept her head on straight, and had a clean remainder of the race. she didn’t secure a transfer spot for the feature, but she performed so well within a group of checker hungry drivers!
🤍 the end of the regular season is always bittersweet, especially this year. seeing the progress both of the kids have made has been incredible. making the move to the competitive class came with a lot of thought, but we know there’s so much more to learn from the seasoned drivers. we’ve no longer got rookie drivers at KFR, and that’s thanks to the lessons learned from both dad and our racing friends at NCQMA.
❔what’s next for KFR? we’ll be hitting the road in december for our first travel racing adventures. next up - the cotton classic in north georgia to be followed by the little 500 in florida at the end of the month. we’re so excited for this next step in our racing journey, and hope that you’ll continue to follow along.
