Softball parent meeting tomorrow (Wednesday 9/9) at 5:30pm in the Touchdown Club room upstairs of the football fieldhouse.

The Russellville Softball program will hold a parent meeting on September 9th (Wednesday) at 5:30 in the Touchdown Club room atop the football field-house. Each player is requested to have a representative in attendance. Important issues will be discussed for our upcoming season and an opportunity to meet the coaches.

🥎 MAKE-UP SOFTBALL TRYOUTS 🥎

Missed our original tryout? We are offering one final make-up tryout for players who were unable to attend.

🕠 5:30 PM
📍 Russellville High School Softball Field

This is the final opportunity to be evaluated for the 2026-2027 Russellville High School and Middle School Softball program.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early with all necessary equipment and be ready to begin promptly at 5:30 PM.

Last night reminded me why I love coaching.

Yesterday, we held our high school softball tryouts followed by middle school tryouts later in the evening. After the high school session ended, four of our five seniors made a decision that spoke volumes about who they are (Ticelee Gholston. Kaylee Suggs, Khristyan Huerta, Alexia Groce). (Our fifth senior, Chloe James was at band camp.)

No one asked them to stay.

They simply chose to stay because they wanted to invest in the next generation of Golden Tigers.

They led our middle school players through stretching, throwing warm-ups, batting warm-ups, and encouraged them every step of the way. They demonstrated the standard for what our program is all about.

As a coach, that’s something you can’t teach overnight. That’s culture. That’s leadership. That’s ownership.

These young ladies have been with me since I became head coach in August of 2023. Watching them grow into the leaders they are today has been one of the greatest blessings of my coaching career. Yesterday wasn’t about softball—it was about legacy.

The younger players got to see firsthand what it means to be a Golden Tiger. They saw teammates who lead by example, serve others, and understand that a program is bigger than any one player.

To my seniors: thank you. I couldn’t be more proud of the young women you’ve become. You represented our program with class, character, and selflessness. You are leaving a legacy that will impact this program long after your final game.

This is how great programs are built—not just through wins and championships, but through leaders who choose to pour into those coming behind them.

The future of Russellville Softball is bright because of examples like yours.

It is highly recommended to show up 30 minutes early to register so we can start on time.
Players trying out will need a current sports physical on file or bring a copy with them.
No metal cleats, gum or seeds allowed on the field or inside the dugouts.
