Feeling overwhelmed? Me, too. Let’s come together and take time to rest, regulate and compost all that we are bombarded with on a daily basis. We will start with gentle yoga: movement, breath awareness and sound, followed by deep guided yoga nidra meditation. You will have ample time to choose your own adventure: tea, supported journaling and oracle card drawing, and five minute mini massages.
Your journey is guided by three seasoned facilitators: Madeleine Lohman, Cara Arndorfer and Anne-Christin Trost. Together, we share decades of experience holding space to facilitate healing. We hope you’ll leave our time together feeling more grounded and resilient, ready to welcome in what Spring has in store for you!
$75
2 sliding scale spots available. Priority for these will be given to QT/PoGM, and folks living with disabilities.

Our grief and rage for this world is showing us what we love, value and want to protect. In this 10 week series, we’ll cultivate the emotional resilience needed to block harm and create the just, sustainable world we want to see. We’ll be guided in our work by the podcast series “We Are the Great Turning “ - interviews with activist and wise ancestor Joanna Macy, who passed away this year at 93. Through a lifetime of social action and Buddhist study, she developed a framework called The Work That Reconnects. It’s a line of inquiry that facilitates the transformation of our anger and despair into joyful and sustainable action for change. Much like a book club, each week we’ll listen to an episode on our own, and then come together to share our reflections and do an exercise based on the episode. I’ll start each session by guiding us in some simple, gentle movement and breathing to help us ground and settle in. We’ll meet virtually, via Zoom, Wednesday evenings, 5-6pm PST, starting on January 14th, and concluding right before the Spring Equinox! This series is pay what you can, suggested donation $20 - $40 for the entire series, but there is no minimum amount. 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Center for Biological Diversity. DM me here with any questions, and to register!

In the middle of a hard day yesterday, we wandered into in Occidental, CA. It was like walking into a grandma’s warm hug. In a world that sometimes feels hostile, I’ve been asking to see examples of people dedicated to creating refuges of kindness and grace around them. I got to experience that yesterday. What an honor to see people living out their dharma so lovingly. I’m humbled and inspired, and the experience will sustain me a long time. Also, the tea was freaking delicious. If you are anywhere near Sonoma County, stop by and check them out!

I got word yesterday that activist and wise elder Joanna Macy has entered the process of dying. Her work has altered the course of my life, and shown me what I want to give the rest of my days too. Those with her say that on her deathbed, she is dancing her arms in front of closed eyes and saying “wow.” So “Wow” is my prayer today. Alongside the grief, and rage and helplessness I feel, may I also remember awe. So thank you, dear Joanna. I selfishly wished I might meet you on this plane, but I felt you this morning, in the leaves, and also in the breeze that blew through them. 🍃

Adding Ayana Elizabeth Johnson to my roster of climate rockstars. This is a book to life your spirits, great conversations with brilliant people, all working to move our species in a more beneficial (and inhabitable) direction. Plus some awesome photos imagining what that future could look like. Recommend!!

This is 52. Spent my birthday eve dancing my butt off at and fangirling hard over . In the moment, I was too verklempt to properly express what a gift they are, to me and this world, but maybe this hug says it all. All I want for my birthday is safe passage for the Madleen and the national guard out of LA. Happy Pride, to all those fighting the good fight, I see you and I love you! 🌈

What I love about = they’re the only major Sacramento choir that doesn’t require an audition. The feedback you’ll get is “good” “pretty good” or “let’s try it again.” It’s four generations of folks trying to make something beautiful in an atmosphere of patience and respect. And last night, in front of a supportive crowd of friends and family, I think we did! Many thanks to Heather and Emily for creating something joyful as heck. 🌈
