UNPLUGGED ADVENTURES

If service is bad, that’s the point 😅

A couple updates to the calendar, so we wanted to repost the official lineup for the rest of the year 👇

• Our 5/31 adventure has moved from Feather Falls to McCloud Waterfalls. Feather Falls is BEAUTIFUL, but this late into spring it gets a little too exposed & we’re not trying to have folks out there fighting for survival before summertime even starts 😂 McCloud gives us water, shade, & a super chill route.

• Sunset @ Alamere Falls has moved from 7/25 to 7/18 - & we’ll also be celebrating our co-founder Romo’s birthday out there so yeah, that one might get a little legendary.

And who knows, there may or may not be a fresh Auburn Alehouse collab beer waiting for us by then 👀🍺

Unplugged Adventures is really just us inviting y’all into the experiences we already love ourselves : sunrise hikes, golden-hour trails, good conversations, community, movement, & moments that make you forget to check your phone for a while.

Same intention. Different trails.

: Mental Health Awareness Month

At Hike & Hit, we like to think of it as Mental Fitness. Since nearly the very beginning of us getting outdoors to strengthen our own mental fitness, Old Trapper has been right there supporting the journey. From hikes & campsites to road trips & community events, they’ve shown us love for years.

So when they heard we were working with student-athletes through our Grant Union Baseball program, they immediately jumped at the opportunity to support that too. We’ve learned that movement, mentorship, community, accountability, purpose, & simply feeling like you belong can truly change lives. From the trails to the dugout, we’re just trying to help build healthier humans from the inside-out.

Big love to Old Trapper for continuing to pour into our community.

: Waterfall Wednesday Update

We’re making a quick pivot for our Sunday 5/31 hike. As much as we love Feather Falls, it’s a little too exposed this time of year & we’re not trying to have anybody out there fighting heat stroke.

McCloud Waterfalls it is.

We’ll be starting at Lower Falls and making our way up to Middle & Upper - super chill, easy hike, no pressure, no “event” vibes. Just good people getting outside together. If you’ve been looking for something more laid back, this is your one. We’ll be camping out at Burney Falls that weekend & driving over to meet everyone that morning.

More details are up on the website, and we’ll keep sharing info as we get closer.

Pull up. Hang out. Be outside.

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about what Hike & Hit Athletics actually looks like, so here’s a little window into it. But truth is, it didn’t start here. It started with moments like these. Early mornings, late nights, circles in the grass, conversations that didn’t stay on the field. Earning trust one rep, one session, one relationship at a time.

These photos aren’t just highlights. They’re the work. They’re the reason we’re in the position we’re in today. Grateful doesn’t even cover it. believed in us, trusted us, and gave us the opportunity to help launch something bigger than just sports. It’s not just reps. It’s not just drills. It’s not just workouts. It’s learning how to show up for yourself and for the people next to you.

Some days that looks like competing. Some days it’s listening. Some days it’s getting uncomfortable and leaning into it anyway. How we do one thing is how we do most things, and these sessions are about building that standard.

If you’ve been watching & wanna tap in, come learn more tomorrow!

Different setting. Same lessons.

Mile 1:
Circle up. Dynamic stretch. A little talking, a little trash talking

The Plateau:
Overlooking the river. Isometric tandem holds.
Real conversations: strengths, service, what keeps you grounded.

The Cave → Climbing Area:
Quick history & then some roaming.
Laugh, explore, take it in - just be kids for a bit.

The Climb:
Steady incline. No shortcuts.
A few “we almost there?” moments 😅

Rock Stacking:
Team challenge. Leadership + communication.
Some figured it out, some learned real quick.

Higher Overlook:
Same river. Different perspective.
Head. Shoulders. Ball.
Competitive. Loud. Energy up.
Old Trapper came out & focus instantly came back.

Full Circle:
Back where we started.
Chef Phav with sticky rice & chicken laap waiting. No complaints at this point.

We can teach the game on a field, but perspective hits different out here. When we asked what they took away:

“Teamwork and proper communication” // “Preparation”
“Live in the present” // “Work hard & have fun” // “Be grateful”
“Focus” // “Effort” // “Hard work pays off”
“The hike! I wish we had more” // “Keep going!!”

This is why we do it.
Senior Night tomorrow.

| Respect : Effort : Attitude

That’s what we emphasized over the past 13 weeks with the Grant Union High Baseball team. Not just in the game, but in how they show up every day.

We started with our Fun & Games session. Breaking the ice, learning names, building that initial trust. From there, we set the baseline with our first combine. After that, it wasn’t just about becoming better baseball players. It was about building habits that carry beyond the field.

How you do one thing is how you do most things.
The way you prepare. The way you communicate. The way you respond when things don’t go your way - that’s the real training.

We had some incredible people pour into this group:
• : Footwork, Speed & Agility
• .altashi: Injury Prevention
• : Psychology & Mental Fitness
• : Flexibility & Mobility
• : Sports-Specific Nutrition

Plus time in the classroom, on the field, & giving back to their own campus, reinstilling “Pacer Pride” through our community cleanup. We closed it the same way we started with a final combine led by Coach Romo. Same tests. Different athletes. More disciplined. More connected. More aware.

Proud of this group.

: 🎥:

Legend has it, the crew of Artemis II hiked the Orientale Basin on the far side of the moon, packed out a 4-pack for the locals, & cracked a couple Hikeaholics back at the ship. 🌌

All this space talk got us thirsty.

We’ll be at Auburn Alehouse tonight getting a couple pints in & re-upping on some Hikeaholics to go. It’s also Pints with a Purpose Wednesday, so proceeds are going to - the crew hosting this Saturday’s American River cleanup (4/18), where we’ll be alongside AAH handing out free lunches to volunteers.

Pull up, have a pint, do a little good while you’re at it.

: H&H x CCCA Sports Academy

We’re honored to announce our partnership with Capital College & Career Academy (CCCA), a free public charter high school rooted in Del Paso Heights.

We’ve been brought in to help launch their Sports Academy - integrating our approach to developing student-athletes from the inside-out. Through movement, sport, and real-life experiences, we’ll be helping build mindset, resilience, and perspective - all brought to life through a series of curated hiking experiences - where everything starts to click.

This one is bigger than a “full circle” moment. It’s a reminder that when you stay grounded in your values and move with intention, things tend to align the way they’re supposed to.

We’ll be hosting 3 upcoming open houses:

Friday April 17th, 5pm - 6:30pm
Friday April 24th, 5pm - 6:30pm
Friday May 1st, 5pm - 6:30pm

Capital College & Career Academy
