Exercise of the Week: Squat to Front Raise 🔥💪
This week we’re dialing in on a full body movement that builds strength, control, and coordination all at once: the Squat to Front Raise.
As you lower into your squat, the dumbbells lift smoothly to shoulder height. As you stand tall, the weights lower back to your sides with control. No swinging. Core tight. Clean, steady reps.
Why We’re Training It
• Strengthens legs, glutes, and shoulders
• Builds core stability through the entire motion
• Improves posture and upper body control
• Great functional movement for everyday life
Add this one into your routine this week and focus on tempo and form. Let’s keep building strong, confident movement — one rep at a time. Coach K Fitness Training — where everybody moves, and everybody belongs.

🔥 Weekly Movement Focus: SUMO SQUATS 🔥
This week we’re highlighting a powerful lower body movement that builds strength, mobility, and confidence — the Sumo Squat.
Why Sumo Squats Matter
• Targets the Inner Thighs & Glutes. The wider stance hits muscles traditional squats don’t reach.
• Improves Hip Mobility. Great for anyone who feels tight or stiff from long hours of sitting.
• More Comfortable for Knees & Lower Back. The upright torso reduces strain and makes it accessible for all fitness levels.
• Strengthens Your Core. Your core works hard to keep you stable throughout the movement.
• Boosts Everyday Function Helps with balance, lifting, and overall lower body endurance.
How to Perform It Safely
• Stand wider than shoulder width with toes slightly turned out
• Keep your chest lifted and core engaged
• Push your knees out as you lower
• Drop your hips straight down, not back
• Drive through your heels to rise tall
Try This Today
Aim for 2–3 sets of 10–12 reps, moving slow and controlled. Add a dumbbell at your chest if you want a little extra challenge.
Let me know how it feels once you try it — consistency builds strength.

🌟 Start 2026 Strong With the Right Nutrition for YOU! 🌟
A new year brings new energy — and there’s no better time to reset your habits and fuel your body with intention. The key isn’t following the “trendiest” diet… it’s choosing an approach that fits your lifestyle, your goals, and your long term health. Here are some smart, sustainable options to explore this year:
🥗 1. Mediterranean Inspired Eating
Packed with colorful produce, whole grains, lean proteins, and heart healthy fats, this style of eating supports longevity, steady energy, and overall wellness. It’s flexible, flavorful, and easy to maintain year round.
🌱 2. Plant Forward Nutrition
You don’t have to go fully vegan to benefit. Simply increasing your intake of fruits, veggies, legumes, nuts, and seeds can boost digestion, support heart health, and reduce inflammation — all while being environmentally friendly.
🍳 3. Low Carb or Carb Conscious Approaches
If your goals include fat loss or improving metabolic health, reducing refined carbs and focusing on protein and healthy fats can help stabilize blood sugar and keep you feeling satisfied longer.
⏰ 4. Intermittent Fasting
This structured eating window can support weight management, improve metabolic markers, and help with mental clarity. Choose a fasting schedule that aligns with your routine so it feels natural, not restrictive.
🍽️ 5. Balanced, Mindful Eating
Sometimes the simplest approach is the most effective. Prioritize portion awareness, hydration, and a variety of nutrient dense foods. This method adapts to your lifestyle and keeps things sustainable.
No matter which path you choose, the best “diet” is the one you can enjoy, maintain, and feel good living with. If you’re unsure where to start, connecting with a nutrition professional can help you build a plan that truly supports your 2026 goals.

đź’Ş Coach K Fitness Training: Dumbbell Shoulder Presses
Team, let’s break down one of the most effective moves for building a strong upper body: the dumbbell shoulder press.
Why It Matters
• Strengthens all three heads of the shoulder (front, side, and rear delts).
• Engages triceps and core muscles for stability.
• Improves posture and helps prevent rounded shoulders.
• Builds functional strength for everyday activities like lifting, carrying, and pushing.
How To Perform It
1. Sit or stand tall with dumbbells at shoulder height.
2. Press upward until arms are fully extended.
3. Lower slowly with control—don’t rush the movement.
4. Keep your core tight and avoid arching your back.
Pro Coaching Tip
• Seated presses emphasize strict form and shoulder isolation.
• Standing presses challenge balance and core strength.
• Rotate between both to maximize results and keep your training well-rounded.
Bottom Line
Strong shoulders are the foundation of upper-body strength. Adding dumbbell presses to your routine will improve stability, performance, and confidence in every lift.
👊 Stay consistent, Coach K Fitness Fam. Every rep builds the strength you’ll carry into life outside the gym.

Mindful Eating During the Holidays: Nourish, Savor, Celebrate
The holidays are a time of joy, connection, and yes — delicious food. But they don’t have to be a time of guilt, restriction, or “starting over in January.” At Coach K Fitness, we believe in honoring your body and your traditions. Here’s how to stay mindful while still enjoying every bite:
🍽️ 1. Slow Down and Savor Before diving into your plate, take a breath. Notice the colors, smells, and textures. Chew slowly. Savoring your food helps you tune into fullness and enjoy the experience more deeply.
🧠2. Check In With Your Body Are you truly hungry — or just eating because it’s there? Pause and ask: “What does my body need right now?” Sometimes it’s food. Sometimes it’s rest, water, or connection.
💬 3. Drop the Guilt Food is not a moral issue. You’re not “bad” for having pie or “good” for skipping seconds. Let go of judgment and embrace balance. One meal won’t derail your progress — but stress and shame might.
🥗 4. Prioritize What You Love You don’t have to eat everything on the table. Choose the dishes that bring you joy or hold meaning. Skip the ones that don’t light you up. This is mindful indulgence.
đź‘« 5. Focus on Connection, Not Just Consumption The holidays are about people, not just plates. Engage in conversation, laughter, and gratitude. Food tastes better when shared with love.
✨ Coach K Reminder: Mindfulness isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence. You’re allowed to enjoy the holidays and honor your health. Let’s make this season one of nourishment, joy, and self-compassion.
