Do you ever let mis-haps and failures make you doubt what a badass you truly are?

Look, if this week, you’ve had an experience that conventional wisdom defines as failure, it sucks, but…

No experience is worth you questioning your worth, it’s just feedback!

And watch out cos sometimes fear will mislead you to kill your self by working harder and harder to compensate for a failure.
If you start feeling:

😵Physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion. (Signs: forgetfulness, insomnia, frequent illness, irritability & anger, anxiety & depression).

😵Cynicism and detachment. (Signs: Negative outlook, isolation, disengagement, loss of employment).

😵Feelings of ineffectiveness and lack of accomplishment. (Signs: Hopelessness, increased irritability, diminished productivity, and poor work performance).

You are NOT these feelings!
These are clear signs of burnout, that you need to normalize and address today!

Don’t let fear confuse you into thinking that YOU are those feelings or take control of how you feel and function!

You’re a badass having an experience of failure…

So here’s what you can do instead of letting these feelings define and derail you:

You’re so much braver than fear!

Just because your brain has evolved with an incredible capacity to activate your fear circuitry (to protect you from real or perceived threats), you should never mistake that for a sign of weakness!

But I get it!
When a trigger activates our fear alarm, it’s natural to doubt ourselves. After all your fear circuitry works inversely with the part of our brain that run our higher functions (that help us feel confident).

But you CAN turn fear off and shift your brain back to its calm, responsive mode🙏🏼.

For example, did you know that when you recognize that fear is clouding your judgment you can shift your brain mode by doubling the length of your exhalations to that of your inhalations?

If fear gets in your way, making you feeling stuck in vicious circles of self-doubt, stand up for yourself!

I don’t know who needs to hear this but…

Stress and fear lie!

They’ll tell you that you’re not good enough, smart enough, capable enough, or beautiful enough..

But the thing is, these are all lies.

The only reason why we tend to doubt our value and our worth when fear overwhelms us, is because it can shut down the region of our brain that supports our ability to see things clearly.

When you can’t see your own beauty, I bet you its because stress (and fear) have hi-jacked your power.

But I’m here to tell you that taking that power back is 100% within your control.

And it comes down to offering your brain cues of safety to it can unlock your brilliant rational thinking and clarity.

But, no matter what, please don’t lose sight of the truth: you’re beautiful just the way you are inside and out.

A belief THAT DRIVES ME CRAZY (& appears to be hardwired in high achievers brains) is that if we want to succeed we need to get out of our own way…🤧

beat ourselves up, sacrifice self-care for success, and lack compassion for any of our shortcomings…😱

Have you ever caught yourself looking at someone else’s highlights on Instagram and thought “I wish I was fearless like they are?”

Well guess what?

Fear is a common humanity, vital human emotion!
Nobody gets a free pass from fear. (Regardless of how fearless one may look by their posts on Instagram 🥴).

I know cos although when people judge my book by its cover they perceive me as fearless, most of my “impressive accomplishments” were driven by fear…

✔️I got a stellar scientific education (even developed drugs for cancer) because of a hidden fear of not being good enough without it…
✔️I built a 20-year successful career to overcome my fear that without professional success, I wouldn’t get external approval.
I run myself to the ground, I burnt out, because of the fear that if I didn’t I wasn’t worthy of love and belonging…

Hindsight 2020, letting dead run my life without my permission took away all the joy out of success

Fear is a vital, powerful emotion that we simply need to learn to work with so that it does its job without getting us stuck, playing small not living our life in our own terms…

Things to recover from in 2021 #9: Mistaking the symptoms of burnout for a personal flaw…

If you ever struggle to maintain an internal sense of balance when things are overwhelming externally, I’m with you.
I get it and I feel you…

But it’s important to remember, that YOU are NOT the experience you’re having.

When you feel stressed, overwhelmed, or fearful…

You’re still a strong, resilient, powerful, amazing human being having an experience that’s overwhelming, stressful or frightening.

You don’t have to allow external stress to overwhelm your body & mind and body or believe its lies!

But if you ever lose sight of this truth and you start to feel stressed out and overwhelmed, here are some things you can do instead of burning out:

1. Call a friend
2. Take a walk in nature
3. Practice mindfulness
4. Practice a breathing technique where you double your exhalations to the length of your inhalations (DM me if you want one.

And when your brain is stuck in stress mode, you’re temporarily impaired (cognitively, perceptually, emotionally, and physically)!

Things to recover from in 2021 # 7: Thinking that asking for help is a weakness🥴.

In Greece, (where I come from) they say that when we reach out for support when we’re struggling cuts the pain & discomfort of the experience in half…❤️

But why do we tend to withdraw and feel all alone when things fall apart more times than not?
This may be a good time to reconsider…
It’s safe to say that the world has been turned upside down for most of us over the last couple of years.

But regardless of the unique impact of all this pain and disruption for us individually, I can guarantee you that we’re never alone in our suffering.

There’s always at least one person who’s walked a similar dark path to ours (and managed to see the light and find their way out).

And if part of that darkness involves getting burnt out from having to deal with adverse life situations (that one could easily describe as “the sky’s falling”, I gotta say…I’ve been there, (I’ve done that, bounced back from it and now writing the book about it).

Things to recover from in 2021- #5: Limiting Beliefs.

It’s safe to say that letting our limiting beliefs run our life on auto-pilot without our permission is a blind spot for most of us.

🥴is Self-care really selfish?
🤯do External things have power over us?
😣will I really never feel good enough no matter what I do?

❌of course not…
But these 👆🏼are the 3 of most common limiting beliefs I help my clients unpack and release (after of course I recognized, accepted and tackled them myself first😣).

👉🏼What’s one belief you were handed that you now recognize is limiting you?

Ok now that you have one in mind, let me tell you a secret….

Come closer….

If this belief is limiting you, you don’t have to believe it anymore.

You can change your mind…

And changing your mind, can rewire your brain, to replace anything (habits, patterns, beliefs) that are keeping your from living the life you want and deserve.
