Sparkles! ✨️ We know her!

Today we participated in SVSU STEM Day at the Great Lakes Loons game! We had a lot of fun with our table neighbors (SVSU's own Lunabotics team!) Showing off and sharing - you guessed it - ROBOTS. There's a place for everyone in robotics, even baseball fans. ⚾️

It's been a quite a summer of getting our community excited about what FIRST has to offer. We love seeing kids faces when they get the robot moving.

We can't believe SASA Orientation is next week. We will be there with sign up sheets and...yup...robots!

Our teams had an incredible evening at Children's Fun Night put on by Saginaw County Parks at Haithco on Wednesday evening.

Over 5,000 of you came out to join in the fun and the energy was off the charts!

It was amazing to share our passion for STEM with so many curious future engineers and their families.

THOUSANDS of you were able to get behind the controls to drive and interact with our robots!

We loved getting to share information about all the amazing FIRST Robotics opportunities in our community and about our program at SASA. We even met some future team members, which is always exciting!

To add to the fun, we gave out stamps as an official stop on the map to help participants win some very cool prizes.

A massive thank you to Saginaw County Parks for hosting such a fantastic event and inviting us to be a part of it. And to every community member who stopped by to chat, ask questions, or cheer on our students: THANK YOU for your overwhelming support!

Today we said “See you later” (not goodbye!) to Sparkles✨️

​A while back, we saw that Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services was looking for someone to refurbish their mascot; a cute, vintage robotic bus. It sounded like the ultimate off-season project for our team! Right after Worlds, we picked her up and got straight to work diagnosing and fixing her up.

​Upgrading her original 1994 tech was really fun. Sparkles quickly became a workshop favorite (we're pretty sure Mega Chunk approved, too). More importantly, she gave our student innovators a hands-on chance to apply their competitive robotics skills toward helping Saginaw flourish.

​To us, Sparkles is a true symbol of community connection. This was such a rewarding experience for our students, and we’re immensely grateful to the Saginaw Transit Authority for trusting us with their mascot!

If you want a chance to meet her, she might be out tomorrow(Aug 13) at Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services - STARS Money on the Move event, happening at the Rosa Parks STARS Transfer Plaza from 10am-3pm!

"Nothing on earth thrives alone"

This season, as we dive into FIRST Canopy, our students are exploring how ecosystems and communities grow stronger together; through teamwork, imagination, and a shared purpose.

So, how awesome is it that The Great Mural Project has a new interactive art piece, which allows each person who participates to represent their unique place in the community? And how awesome is it that our teams were able to leave their mark on Saginaw's new mural titled Community Canopy?

Just like in robotics, this project proves that every individual contribution matters to the whole. It's a celebration of unity, belonging, and the people who make Saginaw special.

WOW! We had the best time at the Art Fair this weekend. We met past team members and mentors, many volunteers from State Champs at SVSU, and just some really outstanding members of the community. We got to see some old friends, teachers from our school, even some friends from other robotics teams. THANK YOU Saginaw Art Fair! We made so many meaningful connections at this event and we are really grateful for the invitation to join in the art and festivities ✨️ Saginaw is AWESOME ✨️
