St. Clairsville won a 6th straight Buckeye 8 Tournament championship by placing 4 golfers in the top 6 and blowing away the field by 51 shots.
The Red Devils, coached by Heidi Mooney, finished with 590 — Martins Ferry was second at 641. Union Local was one shot back in 3rd at 642.

The top 6 made All-Buckeye 8.

St.Clairsville junior Beau Mooney is the 2026 Buckeye 8 Tournament Medalist after shooting a -1 par 71 on his home course at Belmont Hills Country Club. Mooney also shot a 71 in the 1st round at Cadiz CC helping his Devils to a 6th consecutive team title. Mooney was 6 shots clear of 2nd place—his teammate—Mason Conway (76, 72).

The new Bellaire High School Athletic Director is Missy Tiber! A 1990 BHS graduate who has been coaching college basketball for the past 30 years-most recently at Ga. Southwestern & also So.Illinois to name a few. She is a member of the BHS Athletic Hall of Fame! Welcome home, Coach! We’re happy to have you in our league.

Indian Creek opened the 2026 season by defeating Cambridge 49-36 in Wintersville. Big game out of the gate for senior workhorse Bruce Mazar who scored 4 touchdowns and rushed for 167 yards. In all, the All-Ohioan totaled 237 all-purpose yards and did not play in the 4th quarter.

Congrats to our medalist,
Reese Dunlap of Harrison Central, who shot an 83 & made All-Conference.
Kennedy Little of Barnesville fired an 86. McKenzie Ash shot 88 & Mya Anderson carded a 90 representing Beaver Local and also made all-conference along w Ella Smith, who shot 95 from Harrison Central.

The Buckeye 8 Girls Golf Championship is underway at Beaver Creek Meadows w 19 girls total from Barnesville, Beaver Local, Brooke, Harrison Central and Martins Ferry. Top 5 will be crowned at the end of the round. Good luck ladies ⛳️🏌🏿‍♀️
