Have you ever thought about how you learned to hear sound? Have you ever wondered how you learned to see color and depth with your eyes? Did you know that your tongue can support the mobility and coordination of your spine?
These are the fascinating connections we will be exploring together in the next 8 week Feldenkrais series.

Our feet are like ears to the ground. If we listen to the soles of each foot as we move, we may sense a path to balance. We can check if the pressure is distributed evenly or not, and whether our feet are responsive to our movements. This series will start by activating the arches of the feet so our weight can fall evenly onto the 3 arches of each foot. Experience the flexibility & vitality that creates receptive feet needed to move with ease and confidence.
Step Into Ease begins this week!
Remember, each lesson is taught twice. Once on Wednesdays and once again on Sundays. Join us Sunday the 14th for free to test out the material. All you need to do is head to the link in the bio and register there.
We hope to see you there!

Alleviating shoulder and the neck tension that originates from a forwardness of one’s head, and lack of upright posture, is one of the most requested topics I get from students. It’s a difficulty that none of us are immune to. If you are interested in this work, join the Posture Matters series which can always be done as a self-paced course.

Save the Date for New Feldenkrais Series - Posture Matters
8 Lesson Series Beginning on March 1st
Wednesdays @ 6:30pm CST & Sundays @ 4pm CST
Available to take via livestream on zoom or using the self-paced recordings
Everyone’s posture, or how they “use” themselves, isn’t always optimal. With the help of the Feldenkrais method, your postural habits can improve to make everyday movements more enjoyable and easy. Your posture, or, how you navigate being upright with gravity, profoundly affects not only your physical comfort, but your overall health and emotions too.
These lessons will focus on freeing your neck so that the head floats upward, and your spine goes along for the ride.

“Life is not a stable process. Our ability to recover is our greatest quality.”
This upcoming Tuesday, we will gather to spend time exploring and working on just that. The human brain’s primary job is to feel support from the ground below and organize the body to be upright in gravity. It’s something you may not consciously think about too much, until you lose your balance!
With a variety of playful approaches we will check in with our body and brain's effort in balancing and learn to find stability, ease, and breath all the while.
This workshop is open to all levels! Register here: https://body-matter.heymarvelous.com/product/50656/about

Softening the System
4pm CST
Registration details in bio
Within the larger systems of the universe, the earth, the country, your neighborhood.. Is YOUR bodily system, your nervous system, musculo-skeletal system, digestive system, and respiratory breathing system.
After the last few years, does your body have a recurrent or pervasive sense that danger is just around the corner, or that something terrible is about to happen? Or maybe it feels like every week or two there is an overwhelming sense of collective anxiety in response to a current event. What many people feel is the body trying to protect itself from a repeated experience of trauma or stress. The upcoming Body Matter Feldenkrais series will be focusing on Softening the System. Softening our own bodily systems, one by one, and in community.
We're not going to focus on fixing something, but rather we're going to play and expand our capacity for ease, for pleasure and curiosity and we will do that through an explorative process … through curiosity.
I will be referencing Resmaa Menakem quite a lot during this series - author of My Grandmother’s Hands, which is a beautiful book that introduces an alternative view of what we can do to grow beyond the racial divide that is amongst us. In his book, he offers somatic healing methods as well as current research in neuroscience to help entangle this mess we have all found ourselves in, a way to mend our bodies. In this series, we will explore Feldenkrais principles that are similar and/or identical to the methods that Resmaa Menakem offers in his book such as:
* Understanding how breathing can be a change agent for the central nervous system
* Relaxing the hands to support a relaxation in the whole system
* Humming
* Relaxing the Eyes
* Rocking the Body
We all have an individual system, but we are really all quite connected. Learn tools to find ease in your own system, which will impart support change in larger systems.
