Our 2nd Annual trip to the Girls Basketball State Tournament!

What's extra cool about this year is that it is the 50th Anniversary of the girls state basketball tournament! Some of the legends of Minnesota Girls Basketball were honored at halftime of the 3A game. The list includes Harding's very own Shannon Loeblein-Beck! She was Ms. Basketball back in 1991! Thank you for the wave Shannon!

Check out all the legends in these photos!

Team Dinner Guest of Honor, Lisa Lissimore!
It was our honor to welcome Lisa, a Minnesota Basketball Legend, women's pioneer, and culture changer!

Lisa Lissimore, a native of St. Paul's Rondo Community, helped lead St. Paul Central High School to the first Class AA Girls Basketball Championship in 1976. A 2009 inductee into the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame, Lissimore played one season for the University of Minnesota women's basketball team before completing her playing career and education at Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa. Lissimore represented the University of Minnesota on the Big Ten Advisory Commission representative from 1997 to 2004.

After completing a collegiate basketball and educational career, Lissimore’s administrative career with the Minnesota State High School League began as a representative of the Minnesota State Board of Education to the League’s Board of Directors. That paved the way to becoming the League's Associate Director in 1988, serving for 34 years to the more than 500 member schools of the Minnesota State High School League, effectively retiring in 2022 where she was then inducted into the MSHS prestigious hall of fame. During Lissimore’s administrative journey, her enthusiasm for service and energetic spirit positively impacted thousands of the lives of students, coaches and school leaders. Activities under her direction and leadership included Boys and Girls Cross Country Running, Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving, Girls Basketball, Synchronized Swimming, Badminton and Softball. In 2021, Lissimore was selected the recipient of the prestigious NFHS Section 5 Citation Award for distinguished service to schools throughout the country. Lisa now volunteers her time & spends it with family, including watching her son Kendall Blue, currently playing D1 for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Lisa spoke to our team for about an hour, and our girls were hanging on to every word. Thanks for all you do Lisa! It was our honor to host you!

Team Dinner Guest of Honor- Guadalupe Wolfgang, Minnesota's Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Office Director!

Guadalupe Lopez is a nationally respected advocate and coalition-builder with deep ties to Minnesota’s Indigenous communities. She began as the new director of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) Office this year, which is housed in the Office of Justice Programs. Director Lopez brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in addressing domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking and the epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous relatives to the MMIR Office. Minnesota's MMIR Office is the first-of-its-kind office in the country that strives to reduce and end violence against all Indigenous people in Minnesota. Before being appointed as the MMIR director, Lopez served for four years as the executive director for Violence Free Minnesota, the statewide coalition to end relationship abuse. During her tenure, she led a coalition of more than 90 member programs and built collaborations that were rooted in data and centered the voices of community and victims. Lopez, an enrolled member of Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, has also seen the complex realities facing Indigenous communities and communities of color firsthand. Lopez helped launch the first MMIR march in the Twin Cities Metro Area and has worked with dozens of Tribal nations to improve victim services and advance justice.

Thanks for all you do, Director Lopez, and thank you for being our guest! Your stories and education are invaluable to our team and community!
