The Varsity Track & Field team closed out their season earlier this month at the State Championship Meet in Jacksonville, Florida. Twelve Shorecrest athletes qualified πβ‘οΈ
The day of competition started with a 7th place for Sophomore Khali Cameron β28 jumping 2.85 meters in the pole vault and making it to the podium. That was followed up with another podium finish, 5th place for Tristan Chang β27, who jumped 4.05 meters. Next up was Lucy Harris β29 who finished 11th with a new personal best of 10.45 meters in the triple jump.
On the track, Asher Walton β26 finished 13th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:40.28 seconds. The girls 4x100 meter relay team which included Lucy Harris β29, Hayden Zielinski β29, Isabella Williams β29, and Ashlyn Beltran β29, made up of all freshmen, finished 3rd in their heat and 10th overall, running their fastest time of the year in 50.29 seconds.
The final event for the day was the boys 4x400 relay, including Asher Walton β26, Jordan Black β28, Justin Sephus β27, and Damarion Feaster β26. The relay team competed hard, finishing 14th with their best time of the season of 3:32.16.
Aaron Wein β27 set a school record in the pole vault competition at 4.21 meters, or 13.75 feet!
After the season ended, the track team gathered for their team awards party.

An incredible season came to a close this week πβ‘ The Varsity Softball teamβs postseason run ended in the Regional Semifinals, but there is so much to celebrate. From big wins to unforgettable moments, this team competed with heart all season long. A special shoutout to senior Sonia Anderson β26 for her leadership, dedication, and impact on the program along with Head Coach Jason Taylor in his first season with the Chargers. They ended with a winning record of 12-10 overall π₯

Five of our Middle School Track & Field student-athletes will be competing at the State Meet this coming Friday, May 15th, and Saturday, May 16th. Great work in this accomplishment, Chargers π And best of luck this weekend β‘οΈππ½!!!

This season, the Varsity Girls Tennis team made Shorecrest history. They competed in the State Semifinal for the first time in 10 years!
During the match, the team fell 1-4 to Saint Andrews, however, their achievement has not gone unnoticed. βThe Chargers battled gallantly and represented Shorecrest exceptionally well with team spirit and great sportswomanship,β said Coach Bob Davis.
What an extraordinary season, girls. Great work!

The Chargers Softball team are now back-to-back District Champions after their win against Northside Christian by a score of 11-3 π₯π!!!
Madi Bidwell β29 pitched a complete game while striking out 13 batters on the day. Offensively the chargers exploded with 14 hits. Paige Conroy β29 led the attack with four hits, her biggest being a two-run homer that cleared the left field fence to give the team a 6-3 lead in the sixth.
The Chargers now advance to regional play.
