LETS GET MESSY IN THE MIDDLE! 😎

It's a HOTT 🔥 TOPIC currently so if you're the kind that needs a glimpse of who I am within the political spectrum currently, here it is:

I am so far disconnected from MAGA that a “F**K YOU lil MAGA BITCHES” has been my protest sign of choice since the worst president of my life took office this unfortunate term and I'm not afraid to say so… 💯

I believe Colorado, New Mexico, and the basin states deserve ANY AND ALL winter water for crops, farms, and agriculture over ANY FORM OF AI OR DATA CENTER…💧

I believe small businesses help us thrive, and as a category, DOES NOT consist of over businesses with over 1,500 employees and $47 MILLION in revenue as just upped by the federal government…💯

I FULLY believe in a woman's choice personally to have an abortion and my life as “the human here first”, without consent to bring it into this world, has been INCREDIBLE since that decision and I don't regret it in the slightest… 👌

I didn't get the vaccination for COVID, never got COVID in the years it's been around, and I also believe in Medicare for ALL…🏥

I'm NOT against hunting, but you do it for sustenance, conservation, and/or management, not for trophy or sport. You look weak as a hunter of greed otherwise… 🐺

I believe our public lands were gifted to us (after being stolen) as places to protect & THAT INCLUDES the wild horses on them. We aren't meant to extract from sacred lands. 🐎

I believe people of color were here long before us, took better care of this land, and immigration adds to our strength as a nation. 🇺🇸

I could go on and on, but those are a few that you can see yourself out to if you feel the need to argue cause I certainly don't want or need to work with you through my business. I'm trying to find those on my same wavelength of humanity. ✌️👌😎💯💜

WHO RUN THE WORLD…? GIRLS! 💅👭

Something I didn’t expect when I started spending more time in a variety of business communities was how often I would find a woman behind the business. A shop owner. A service provider. A maker. A consultant. A nonprofit leader. A woman who took something she knew how to do and turned it into a business. And the more women I meet, the more I realize just how much of rural small business is being built and led by women. 🔥

I joined the Glenwood Chamber last year and one group they host each month is WIN - Women in Networking. Since joining, I’ve been a part of a few of these WIN events and at each one I learn something incredibly valuable. There is something powerful about getting a group of women business owners and leaders together who understand what it takes to build something of your own and who are willing to support each other along the way. ✨️

This year has introduced me to so many incredible women across the Western Slope of Colorado and Southern New Mexico. Some have become clients, some collaborators, some friends, and some have simply reminded me how much talent and determination exists within ourselves as women.👑

Even a few short decades ago, these rooms wouldn’t have existed and that’s something I’ll never take for granted. Women are now building businesses, creating jobs, serving their communities, and creating greater opportunities for themselves and others every single day. I couldn’t be more proud to be among them on this timeline. 🥰

THE CONFERENCE THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING FOR 💯😎

October of last year, I attended West Slope Startup Week in Durango, two months after going full-time into this business and travelling.

I walked into that week looking for ideas and walked away with a much clearer picture of where I wanted to take . I met other entrepreneurs. I heard stories from people who were building businesses in their own unique ways. I learned from speakers who challenged the way I was thinking about my business. And I found a community of people who understood what it was like to be building something of your own.

That week gave me connections, ideas, confidence, and A WHOLE LOT of momentum.🔥

A year later, I can look back and see just how many decisions I've made since then that can be traced back to something I learned, someone I met, or a conversation I had during that week, including the fact that I get to speak at it this year!

That's pretty powerful. THAT’S THE POWER OF GETTING IN THE ROOM. ✨️

Sometimes you go to a conference looking for one thing and leave with something you didn't even know you needed. That’s also why I'm a BIG believer in getting out from behind the laptop and finding your people.

STEPPING BACK CAN HELP YOU SPRING FORWARD 💯

It's okay to take a break to reset & I did just that for the Fall 2025 semester at Colorado Mountain College.

I've actually been working on my second bachelor's degree since 2024, this time in Business Administration. But when I made the decision to go full-time into traveling and within this business simultaneously last August, I knew I needed to step back from school for a semester.

I wanted the time and space to figure some things out.

I wanted to explore the rural communities I was drawn to, spend more time on the Western Slope of Colorado, find new places to fall in love with like Southern New Mexico, and really think about where I wanted to work and who I wanted to serve through .

Taking that semester away from school gave me the opportunity to focus on building my business and getting to know the communities I was becoming a part of.

It also gave me the chance to keep learning in a different way.

Then Spring 2026 came around, and I went back to school. I earned my Google Digital Marketing & E-Commerce Professional Certificate, which added another set of skills and knowledge that I could bring into my work with small businesses and made it one step closer to one of my many business goals.

I'm still working toward that second bachelor's degree, and I'm still learning outside of school too, because I don't think learning has to look one particular way.

A degree isn't required to run a business. Neither is a certification. Some of the best business lessons come from experience, conversations with other business owners, making mistakes, trying something new, or simply figuring things out as you go.

I'm just someone who genuinely enjoys learning in all the ways possible, and I think that's one of the best parts of being a small business owner. We're constantly learning.

If we haven't met yet, hi! 👋 I'm Chelsea, the person behind Be Your Best Self - Virtual Assistance for Small Businesses, or for short!

I'm a full-time traveler, splitting my time between rural Colorado, primarily the Western Slope, and Southern New Mexico. That means I get to experience small-town life, rural communities, and small businesses in a few different corners of the Southwest. && that's a big part of why I do what I do.

I help small businesses with the things that often get pushed to the bottom of the to-do list includine their:

-Websites
-Social media
-Google and online visibility
-Marketing
-Content and design..All the little digital things that somehow become BIG things when you're running a business

I've always loved small businesses, but spending so much time in rural communities has given me an even greater appreciation for the people behind them. I've seen firsthand how much talent, creativity, resourcefulness, and determination exists in communities that don't always have access to the same resources as larger cities.

I've learned a LOT this year, too. I've worked with business owners, learned new things myself, changed how I approach my own business, celebrated some big wins, and definitely learned a few lessons the hard way.

So I decided to spend September sharing it all!!!
