Event Summary:
Championship Weekend
An exciting weekend of competitive golf wrapped up with stellar performances across the Championship, Super Senior, Legend, and Senior divisions. Demanding course conditions tested the fields over the two-day event on our par-71 layout (35 front / 36 back), leading to dramatic shifts on the leaderboard and hard-earned victories.

Championship Division: Kilzer's Back-Nine Surge Secures the Win
Charlie Kilzer captured the Championship Division title with a model of consistency, shooting a 1-over-par 72 on Day 1 and backing it up with a 75 on Day 2 for a 147 total. While the field stayed close for most of the weekend, Kilzer absolutely ignited on the back nine of Day 2, firing a spectacular 3-under-par 33 to pull away from his competitors and lock down the top spot along with $450.00 in shop credit.
The battle for the podium was fierce behind him. First-round leader Ryan Szalay opened with an even-par 71 but stumbled on Day 2, opening the door for Russ Adams and Brad Vinson, who finished the weekend deadlocked at 150. Ultimately, Adams' own strong performance on the back nine of Day 2 broke the tie, officially earning him the Runner-Up prize ($274.00) via a scorecard playoff. Vinson took home a well-deserved Third Place ($180.00).
Hank Robins put up a valiant Sunday charge with a 75, falling just one stroke short of the podium.

Super Senior Division: Gegork Goes Low for the Win
In the Super Senior Division, Steve Gegork put together the most dominant two-day performance of the entire tournament. Opening with a brilliant, even-par 71 on Day 1, Gegork backed it up with a steady 74 on Day 2. His 145 total (3 over par for the weekend) secured the Super Senior Championship and $250.00 in shop credit.
Craig Rae earned the Runner-Up honors and $160.00 with a total of 152 (75-77), holding off a close challenge from John Henderlite, who finished just one stroke back at 153.

Legend Division: Medinger Dominates
In the Legend Division, Grey Medinger put on a masterclass in consistency. After opening with an 81, Medinger shaved four strokes off his score on Day 2 to fire a 77, finishing at 158 to secure the Champion title and $250.00 in shop credit.
Russ Priddy claimed the Runner-Up spot ($105.00) with a total of 163 (82-81), while Barry Medinger rounded out the division field.

Senior Division: Basinger Seizes the Title
The Senior Division saw Corey Basinger put together two strong rounds to cruise to victory. Tied with Pete Kuld after identical opening-round 82s, Basinger found his groove on Day 2, carding a steady 78 to finish at 160. The performance earned him the division championship and $250.00 in shop credit.

Denton Claims First Title in Dramatic Finish at 2026 Chokers Championship
The 2026 Chokers Championship delivered a tense and memorable conclusion, as Jimmy Denton emerged victorious after a high-pressure Shoot-Out featuring the tournament’s top qualifiers and defending champion Craig Rae.
Following the morning qualifying round, nine players advanced to join Rae in the Shoot-Out. Jacob Smith, who posted the low qualifying score of 70, was the first to be eliminated after losing a putt-off on the opening hole, finishing in 10th place. His father, Phillip Smith, exited on the second hole, while Clint Miller fell with a bogey on hole three to claim eighth. Bruce Stolsworth’s run ended in a pitch-off on the fourth hole, and Joey Rusher secured sixth place after struggles on the greens at hole five.
The remaining five players guaranteed themselves prize money, but the competition intensified. Rae, the defending champion, was eliminated in a chip-off against Denton, finishing fifth. Neil Hiatt, steady through six holes at even par, recorded his first bogey on hole seven and finished fourth.
The final trio—Keith Dorsett, Charlie Graeber, and Denton—battled into the closing holes. On hole eight, Denton seized control with a near-perfect approach that set up a birdie. Dorsett and Graeber each carded fours, forcing a bunker playoff for advancement. Graeber edged Dorsett with a shot that settled within a foot of the hole, securing his place in the final pairing.
On the decisive hole, Graeber delivered a strong tee shot, leaving himself an 18-foot putt. Denton, however, found trouble off the tee, landing in a deep bunker. In a stunning turn, Denton holed out from the sand for a birdie two, shifting the pressure back to Graeber. His putt to tie narrowly missed, sealing Denton’s first Chokers Championship title.
In the Net bracket, reserved for players who did not advance to the Shoot-Out, Mike Doran and Bato Radovic shared top honors with matching net scores of 71.
Tournament organizers extended their thanks to all participants for contributing to a competitive and spirited event.
