I will go to my grave, believing, that if Rickey would’ve put the blunt on the shelf till he was done playing football, the Dolphins would’ve won a Super Bowl with Nick Saban as head coach. What do you guys think?

Powerful workhorse who arrived in a blockbuster trade and delivered immediately. In 2002 Williams rushed for 1,853 yards and 16 touchdowns, earning All-Pro honors while carrying the offense. Elusive yet physical feature back who produced at a high level across multiple stints in Miami.

Who remembers this Old, Old, school Dallas QB?

1973-7-22: On this day in Professional Football History - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Craig Morton returned to Cowboys training camp, ending an eight-day holdout. He agreed to a new three-year deal with the Cowboys.

Morton felt that he would be the starting quarterback entering training camp, but not after missing more than a week of camp. “I think I relinquished that privilege of being No. 1 when I left camp. Now I consider myself just one of the candidates for the No. 1 job, a fact that I accepted when I left.”

As far as dealing with the business side of things, Morton was pleased with the way Cowboys president - general manager, Tex Schramm handled matters. Morton put things in perspective, saying “When you deal, you have to deal from the player’s side, and management has to deal from their side. Tex just happens to be on the bad side.”

Cowboys head coach Tom Landry tried to stay even keeled during the ordeal. When camp started, he said that Morton and Staubach would get equal time as the No. 1 quarterback as they battled for the starting nod.

But that changed due to the holdout. “Under the circumstances now, Craig’s going to have to come in and take his turn behind Staubach and (Jack) Concannon. He’s now something like nine practices behind in what the other quarterbacks are doing,” Landry said.

Landry continued, “It’s never fair to bring a man in that’s competing for a position this late and not have him work behind everybody that’s there. He’s going to have to prove he’s better than the people in front of him. That means when they line up with the first string out there, Roger will be the quarterback, and Craig will spell off with Concannon. It’s not that Roger has established as No.1 at this point. It’s just that he’s been here and working and he has No. 1 preference at this time. I haven’t made a decision on No. 1 at all at this point.”
