Alamo Kreativ Video Productions specializes in ASL videos for
K-12 Assessment testing. It is important to us that K-12 students have the accessibility needed for success during state assessment tests. We are looking for Deaf and CODA interpreters in the San Antonio and Austin, Texas Metropolitan areas to work on a project by project basis, filming assessment videos, ensuring that Deaf and hard of hearing students have the accessibility necessary for testing.

Role Description:
This is a project by project, on-site role for a Deaf Interpreter located in the San Antonio and Austin, Texas Metropolitan Areas. This is an independent contractor position (1099).

The Deaf Interpreter will be responsible for providing accurate and effective interpretation for online K-12 assessment videos. This role involves working closely with team members, filming

K-12 Assessment videos and ensuring clarity, conceptual accuracy and understanding. Additional responsibilities include preparing for assignments by reviewing relevant materials, glossing the materials from English to ASL, ensuring conceptual accuracy, and adhering to professional ethics and standards, including Alamo Kreativ and individual state guidelines.
Non-disclosures will be signed and adhered to.

Qualifications:
• Native Deaf
• CODA - First language is ASL
• Excellent interpreting skills and ability to convey educational
messages accurately
• Familiarity with educational materials and interpreting is
beneficial
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
or Board for Evaluation of Interpreters (BEI) is preferred
• Willingness to get certified if working with Alamo long term
• Experience working as a Deaf Interpreter is beneficial
