Double Diamond Game Tracking

🏹 We had the opportunity to track a whitetail during the first Youth Bow Season.... and well, it was successful. Gus worked hard to recover this trophy for a kid and we all left happy!
📱 When we are in the Texas Hill Country and available, we like working 🐾 🐾 🐕. We are just a phone call or text away!

Saturday 🐕 Takeover:
It’s me, Gus, from Double Diamond Game Tracking. When we are at home in the hill country and someone needs a little help, I am ALWAYS eager to please. When my fancy collar goes on, I know it’s time to WORK.

The unseasonably warm temperatures for November mean I can work hard AND PLAY hard. Dad said I earned this little dip in the water after my latest assignment.

Heyyyy!!! Look at that Double Diamond Outfitters featured me on their post today. My dad says I’m getting better each time I track. Just like my brother used to do.

I helped Mark, and I can help you if you’re in the area! I love tracking game. Dad says it’s work, but it feels more like play if you ask me! Sometimes I get some of the best treats after I’ve done a good job. Call my dad. We will help!

Slow day in the news for as we have a quiet day off.

But it’s never too late to pat this little 4-legged critter, I call my sidekick, on the back.

You’ll see him with me on almost every hunt holding things down back at camp. Every now and then we will need his nose to help us find an animal with a blood trail.

He’s always eager to track game (especially if he recovers it and gets a post run treat ♥️!)

For those who haven’t met him....That’s GUS by the way. He’s a rebellious teen at 4.5 years old. He is a Red Lacy. Which happens to be the official State Dog Breed of Texas. The Senate honored the Lacy as “a true Texas breed.” He’s strong and fast, and since they were developed to be hunting/herding dogs, he loves to work. Blood trailing game is his speciality. In his spare time he loves chasing birds (and never catching them flying in the sky).

This particular axis he located and was on it’s trail for nearly a mile. .ross13 was thankful for Gus’ hard work and good nose that day!

Dad said Mark needed a little help finding this buck after he bolted off. It was a little windy and the sun was close to setting, but that didn’t stop me. A little drop of blood and I could smell what they couldn’t see. I bet I ran nearly a mile, but I found him. You should have seen me circling around him. He gave me a good chase....but I was just a little bit “gooder”. Mark was excited when he caught up a realized I did it! He said I deserve all the treats for being a good boy! Dad said I did so good. Even let me cool off in the water trough after.

Everything is always better together. Thank you Jack, and HAPPY Father’s Day, for bringing your son and son-in-law to hunt this weekend. Having DAD there right along side you makes the memories that much sweeter!

Mark got himself one helluva a trophy over Father’s Day weekend 2020! ( 👀 peep that Devil’s Point!). Even better having his brother-in-law and father along with him. (Special thanks to Gus in his tracking efforts!).

Congratulations Mark! Looking forward to seeing ya’ll in 2021!
