I have been MIA. I have been focusing on my self, my marriage and my family during this season.
For the first time in my life, I want all of my efforts,all of my thoughts, and all of who I am to be . So, all of my energy and the work that I choose to do, is a reflection of what He is calling me to do. Think about how you spend your time, and mental energy.. and maybe cut back in some areas for a season to rest.

Take away from this past week:
1)Why is hinging hard to teach to teach to youth? I believe the answer lies in the overall lack of load bearing activity in todayโs youth. It is very hard for a young athlete to relate because they just simply have no frame of reference for the proper posture.
2)Additionally, scaling is very important for teaching youth. There is no need to rush the progress of these athletes and any quick action on my part could detract from a sustained growth in the areas that we are trying to improve over time.
3)Itโs always great to be around such motivated people in training. The athletes at NASA WILD have such a driven desire that is equally matched by their coaching staff. Iโm happy to be a part of the teamโs continuing success and wish them all health and favor in the start of this new season! ๐๐ผ๐ช๐ผ

I was given a compliment on how well the training program I was providing to a swim team was going. I was asked, โwhy do all this work for swim teams? Why not do this for a football team, or bodybuilding or any other strength sport?โ
I said โnot only does swimming have a special place in my heart because of my past experience in the sport. But also because many swimmers are losing the broad base of various athletics that contributes to the eventual success in their individual sport. Without a childhood of wrestling, physical labor and multiple sports, these athletes will not understand how their bodies work.
Iโm giving that experience to them. For the rest of their lives, they will know how to push, pull, squat, hinge and carry something heavy. Iโm honored to be the one teaching them that.

Itโs not science or sexy
1. exercise (something is better than nothing)
2. Drink water (carry around a water bottle, or maybe set a reminder)
3. Get sun (vitamin D)
4. Walk (park a little further from the entrance)
5. Rest (schedule it)
6. Healthy eating ( try to always Choose the healthier option)
