Remembering a Legend: Bill Harmon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a true pillar of our club, Bill Harmon. As one of our original founders and a former Club President, Bill didn’t just help build this club—he sustained it for decades. We could never speak enough about Bill, because now and forever, he is Mr. Alamo City.

If something positive happened at our club, Bill likely had a hand in it. He was our greatest advocate and our most reliable leader. Whether we were celebrating a win or navigating a slump, Bill was the steady hand that kept us moving forward.

His Impact Was Everywhere

• The Hall of Fame: A well-deserved inductee who embodied everything our team stands for.

• The "Dirty Work": Bill’s dedication never outgrew the trenches. Just this past summer, he was right there with us, spreading seed and prepping the match pitch. He didn’t just build the club; he literally tended to its roots until the very end.

• The Bridge to the Future: Bill was "The Guy." When we needed jerseys or field improvements, he secured the support and funding needed to keep us elite.

• The Constant Presence: He attended board meetings every single season—even when they went virtual. He was that wonderfully eccentric "old grandpa" or uncle of the club. You could count on him to randomly hold up a newspaper clipping during a Zoom call when a fellow Old Boy joined, saying, "Hey, I’ve got an article about you right here!"

A Lifelong Devotion

Bill lived and breathed Alamo City. Even in his final days, his heart was on the pitch. He was looking forward to our upcoming match against Corpus, asking just a day prior what he could do to help us out at the field.

Bill was more than a founder, he was the soul of this club. We will miss him every time we step onto the grass he helped grow and the pitch he helped build.

Rest in peace, Bill. We'll take it from here.

A Word From The Club President:

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our founding member, former president, Hall of Famer, a true pillar of our club and most importantly our friend - William "Bill" Harmon - has passed away.

We are still finding this hard to process.

From founding the club in 1983 and filling the roll as vice president to being club president from 1987-1989 to voted into the Hall of Fame in 2002 to giving this new club president guidance on being a good club president, Bill is the embodiment of lifelong devotion. This is why you will always be Mr. Alamo City and the gold standard that I would live to reach.

There is so much more GREAT things to be said about Bill but I cannot put the words together at this moment. You will be forever missed. Alamo City cannot thank you enough. I, personally, cannot thank you enough.

We will be thinking of you from every time we step onto Bowie Field.

Rest in peace Bill.

- TCU Mike

More information on his funeral services will posted when received

Sorry to all for the late notice but due to military obligations, Old Skool has requested to reschedule our home game for 2026. Players are still going to do an intersquad play/scrimmage at 2pm at Brooks Park. That now means we have 5 matches planned for 2026. More rugby for us! Again, we do apologize.
