This year, I would like to buy as many Holiday gifts 🎄as I can from Facebook friends who own small businesses. Whether it's books 📚, makeup💄, handbags/totes👛, jewelry💍, clothes👗, photography 📸, handmade crafts 🐚, art💐 or items for the household 🍶 -- Why not buy from those we know?!!? I have a lot of friends who have their own businesses!!

I was excited to work with Random Capital and their clients Juiceland and Black Swan Yoga of Houston designing custom pieces for their outdoor space and shop.

The outdoor pieces are made of 1.5" solid Cedar and 1.5" steel square and flat bar. The frames were painted green with a marine grade commercial enamel. The benches also feature an adjustable tensile support under the seats to prevent sag in the future. No one likes sagging.

The indoor tables are made of 1.25" solid Walnut inlaid with colored resin stripes. They are backed by .75" Baltic Birch Ply and finished off with a flush inset of steel frame. The bases were purchased off the shelf but painted the same green paint.

If you're in the area, stop in for a yoga session and cool off with a smoothie.

It's been a while since I posted anything, I got busy with a few projects and would like to share!

BEHOLD, the Santiago Table! Custom designed and hand built for my client Santiago in Houston. Santiago and his wife needed two large tables to complete their Mid Century styled living room. The table was originally designed to be natural wood but a black armoire they purchased redirected the design of the table.

The finished product is a solid 1.5" Ash dyed ebony and stained espresso to give it a velvety look. 7.5" solid Walnut shelves are nicely tucked underneath for storage. The frame is 1.25" square tube and flat bar frames finished in a black tinted clear automotive finish.

More to come!

Houston Heights Door Pulls 10/10/2016

This was a very interesting project to work on. The architect had a design in mind and looked to me to work out the details and fabricate it. In the end, the pulls look great and work well with the architecture.

In the Houston Heights neighborhood of Houston, Tx is a recently converted washateria. It houses the recently opened Steel City Pops, an all natural gourmet pop shop and coming soon, Birds Barbershop, voted Elle's 100 Best Salons in America. I had the pleasure of working with architect Troy Schaum and developer Steve Radon to design and fabricate custom door pulls for this facility.

The finished product: 7'-0" door pulls of 1-1/2" square steel tube, powder coated in black, solid white oak hardwood with marine finish hand-finished with CNC'd machined stand-offs.
