We wish all teams the best of luck and congratulations as they compete in the championship games today

We are aware of the incident reported involving an off-duty member of the San Antonio Police Department at a recent Catholic Youth Organization basketball game.

Let us be clear: this conduct does not represent CYO, our mission, or our values.

CYO is a ministry first. Our foundation is faith, respect, sportsmanship, and the inherent dignity of every child. Our gyms are intended to be safe and supportive spaces where young people grow not only in skill, but in character and discipleship. Any behavior that escalates tension, becomes physical, or detracts from that purpose stands in direct opposition to who we are.

Our commitment is unwavering. We will safeguard the integrity of our ministry and the well-being of our athletes, families, coaches, officials, and spectators.

We encourage our community to remember that CYO is greater than any single incident or individual. Our mission endures, and we remain dedicated to modeling faith, accountability, and respect in all that we do.

🏀 CYO PLAYOFF SEASON MESSAGE 🙏

Dear CYO Parents, Families, and Coaches,

As we begin playoff season, we thank you for your time, commitment, and dedication. Playoffs are an exciting reward for our athletes’ hard work and growth throughout the season.

With that excitement often comes heightened emotion. Please remember that our athletes are watching how we respond to adversity, officiating decisions, victory, and defeat. They will remember our example far longer than the final score.

CYO is a ministry first and a sports league second.
Our mission is to form young people in faith, character, discipline, and sportsmanship.

🏀 Coaches – Your composure sets the tone.
🏀 Parents – Your reactions shape the atmosphere.
🏀 Together – We create the environment for our athletes.

Let us compete hard while remaining humble.
Let us cheer passionately while remaining respectful.
Let us demonstrate the calm leadership our children deserve.

Officials are doing their best in a challenging environment.
Coaches are volunteers.
Players are children.
All deserve our respect.

🚨 ZERO-TOLERANCE REMINDER 🚨

Disrespectful, threatening, or unsportsmanlike behavior toward officials, coaches, players, or spectators will not be permitted.

Violations will result in immediate action, including removal from the gym if necessary.

Playoff intensity does not change our standards — it strengthens our responsibility to live them.

Let every playoff game reflect the best of CYO:

✝️ Christ-Centered
🤝 Respectful
🏆 Competitive with Integrity

Together we create a safe and positive playoff environment for our athletes.

Thank you for supporting our CYO ministry.
