Good times always start with good people. This weekend was another memorable time with Kim Morgan and her son Ben. Congratulations to Ben on his Fallow Buck harvest, and thank you for helping out on making the hunt a success! Ben definitely comes from a hunting background and knows what he is doing. Kim has been a repeat hunter with her husband Chris and both have made unforgettable memories hunting on this ranch. Both always departed happy and talked about when they would return. Unfortunately, Chris spread his wings and departed this earth to be with the lord in 2025. Chris was an amazing person with exceptional gun knowledge and loved to shoot and reload ammunition. Chris taught me alot including the 300 blackout, 6.5 prc, 6.5 Grindel, and numerous other guns and ammunition. This recent hunt with Kim and Ben, I believe Chris was smiling down at us this weekend ,watching how we chased that Axis buck all over the ranch and never got the shot.If I know Chris, he would have said he would just take the shot, it’s only 400 yards.🤠The last Axis buck🦌 Chris shot off this ranch was very similar,he also worked hard to find the perfect-shot opportunity ,which after hours of hunting,it happened. Chris decided to hide out behind a rock pile and hunt the old fashioned way,no high racks, no blinds, no UTVs ,which his plan paid off, just being patient and let it happen. I was handed a large bag full of 6.5 creedmore rounds from Ben loaded by Chris, which I plan to use on my next harvest as a tribute to Chris. I don’t know when my hunt will happen, but I will definitely post it. Looking forward to when Kim, Ben return for there next hunt. I told them to plan on next Thanksgiving.
