Tonight at 7pm join bereaved parents around the globe in remembrance. We light a candle to remember the babies we’ve lost and never got to meet. As each time zone reaches 7pm we created a WAVE OF LIGHT around the globe.

October 1st - 10th .l.a.m.nation is hosting the Third Annual March for Maternal Mental Health.

S.L.A.M. San Diego will be marching at 9:30am on Thursday October 6th, 2022. We will meet at Lake Murray Community Park.

For the march, moms, spouses, friends, and children from all over the US & Europe both within the SLAM community and outside of it, take on the emotional and mental weight of Maternal Mental Illness by literally putting on a physical weight. Marchers wear backpacks of various weights or babies in carriers, and ruck by themselves, with their families, or with their SLAMilies. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.


S.L.A.M. San Diego is expanding!

🗓 We will meet at Tierrasanta Community Park on Monday and Thursday at 9:30am

🗓 We will continue to meet at Civita Park on Tuesday and Friday at 9:30am.

Rotation to Balance Rotation

We all have asymmetries in our bodies steaming from anatomical structure (example: asymmetrical diaphragm) and movement patterns (example: hand dominance).

When we think we are "straight on", maybe we aren't due to these rotational asymmetries! Let's dig in...

“Last year, we began the transition of growing our business to be more inclusive of even more women. By changing our company name and taking out the word “stroller”, we took steps towards ensuring that women in any stage of their life knew that SLAM was for them. Stroller aged kid, grand babies, or no kid at all, SLAM is here for YOU.

Part of that transition included changing our logo. The woman running with a stroller silhouette is iconic as far as we’re concerned. It helped us grow to where we are now. But, it’s time to show you all the newest phase of Sweat Like A Mother.
Our new logo is both minimalistic and PACKED with meaning for us. When we see it, we think of the blood, sweat, tears, breastmilk, and formula that we as mothers often literally pour into our children. It’s a reminder of our strength and all that we are capable of. It’s the water that our coastal mamas run next to, it’s the mountains that our mountainous mamas workout on, and everywhere in-between. We see the new sweat drop shaped logo and know that we can be mothers AND athletes. That we can workout to be healthy examples for our children AND because we love ourselves. In this small logo, we see where SLAM started, and how far it will go. We hope you come to associate these values, ideas, and emotions with our new logo soon, too.”

💗💙As women and mothers we know that feeling that makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck when you’re running alone. You’re not always sure what it is. Something in the air.

💗💙You also crave the solitude of a run/hike/walk alone to re-center your mind. You fit your run in around work, school, feeding babies, nap schedules etc. You run when you can. Early Mornings. Late Nights.

Finding stability in single leg stance activities makes our pelvic floor very happy ;)

Does doing this type of movement and the potential impact on my long term heath and goals serve me at this time?”

We want to encourage you to work hard and meet your goals, but we also want to remind you to truly listen to the cues your body is giving you and acknowledge and work with the medical realities you may have as a result of pregnancy and birth. We will help you modify exercise as needed and meet those long term goals! You got this mama!
