Great timing for AAPI Heritage month. When will your journey begin?

It’s what’s on the inside that matters. Especially when the inside is cake.
Just a little something sweet for AAPI Heritage Month.

Master Albert and G**o Jason ( ). Adult sessions. Saturdays 11am-12pm and 12:30pm-1:30pm.

We still have photos trickling in from last week. We just had to highlight the Kuo brothers. From Hika being precise about his shots to Hiro teaching us all how much power he had by breaking 3 sticks in a youth division. They have a great support system with sister Hina jumping into training occasionally. Dad, Yannick, gets these two to training every week. Even their mom, Tomo, kept us all strong by helping the injured on tournament day, and days prior.

Tournament day you’ll see Corey picking his shots and being strategic. What you don’t see are training days where he is patient guiding his partners and playing nice when you know he can turn it up. G**o Jason has experienced the most padded stick competition in our group and he’s picked up on Corey’s abilities. That says a lot. This tournament wasn’t the one Corey came out on top, but watch out for this guy. He’s just warming up.

The man behind the mask is eskrimador Jesse Estola’s . One of the most positive and high energy team members to have representing. A pleasure to watch. No questions asked, simply jumps in the ring and has a good time. He brought it and came with a win. Walked away after a loss in a later bracket, just had a huge smile saying, “that was fun”.

Now that’s the attitude that makes a winner. Congrats on a job well done, and continued growth. Mabuhay!

IT TAKES A VILLAGE! This is just some of our “village” that helps raise the practitioners not just as consumers of the art, but as contributors as well. This is instilled in us through guidance of Master Albert and Master Dovie.

It’s not easy to put these events together, but .paul.si, , and others went through great lengths to pull this off.

We had one rule every student MUST follow on tournament day. HAVE FUN!
