Last day of chemotherapy!! 🥳👏
One surgery, 28 days of radiation, 8 cycles of chemotherapy 9 months later… OMG!! I’m not going to lie, it’s been rough, but I got through it with all the love and support from family, friends, clients, and even people I don’t know.
Even though I’m done, I’m not actually finished there are still many more scans, blood tests, and follow-ups ahead. But I truly believe the worst is behind me! 💙💙

On my 5th cycle of chemotherapy more than halfway now 🥳
My platelets were low again; however, I found a papaya extract that’s been helping, along with other foods like fruits, chicken, fish, sweet potatoes, and spinach. I’m also going to add bone broth, which is supposed to help as well.
Some of you have asked what my diet looks like during my 48-hour chemo treatment. Honestly, it’s nothing special. I don’t have a big appetite, so my main goal is just to get enough calories in. I still try to eat healthy, but sometimes a burger animal style from In-N-Out takes the win.
Thank you for continuing to support me💙

I’m feeling a little sleepy this time around. I’m on my 4th cycle and officially halfway through treatment! I almost had to skip this round because my platelets were too low, but I was able to get them up thanks to papaya. I had two days to get my numbers up, so I ate and juiced a lot of papaya along with maintaining a healthy diet and getting plenty of rest and it worked!
My nurses are amazing and so supportive. I’m also incredibly grateful for my husband, family, and friends who continue to lift me up through all of this. 💙💙💙
Halfway there! 💪

Zucchini Lasagna

• 3–4 zucchini (depending on size), sliced lengthwise
• 2 cups cottage cheese
• 1 large egg
• 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1½ pounds ground turkey
• 2 cups marinara sauce
• 1–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. Prepare the cheese mixture:
In a medium bowl, stir together the cottage cheese, egg, and Italian seasoning until well combined. Set aside.
3. Slice the zucchini:
Wash and slice the zucchini lengthwise into thin strips. (Tip: Lightly pat with paper towels to remove excess moisture.)
4. Cook the turkey:
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground turkey until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
5. Add sauce and seasoning:
Stir the marinara sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder into the cooked turkey. Simmer for a few minutes to combine flavors.
6. Layer the lasagna:
• Place a layer of sliced zucchini on the bottom of a baking dish.

• Spread a layer of the cottage cheese mixture on top.
• Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
7. Top with mozzarella:

It’s been a while since I’ve been in my garage lifting heavy not as heavy as I used to but it’s a great start, and it felt so good!
After two surgeries and now working around my chemo pump, I’ve had to modify my own workouts. But that doesn’t mean my clients have to. I’ve kept my classes at their normal intensity because movement is powerful.
Fitness has helped me tremendously mentally and physically through radiation and chemotherapy. One doctor doubted that I could continue Smiths Fitness, but so far, I’ve proven him wrong. Thankfully, my other doctors fully support me continuing.
Don’t ever take movement for granted. You are blessed with a body so use it. 💪💙
