2023 is less than two weeks away! We’re putting final touches on things and getting our final deliveries, including this year’s medals and podium awards! Looking awful sweet!

Training Run 1 for 2023 is now scheduled for April 23rd, 2023! This will be a joint effort with the crew from SD100.
Start Time: 7:00AM
Location: Red Tail Roost Trailhead
Route: 16.2 miles out and back, mostly along the PCT 50 course
Notes: An aid station will be available at the turnaround after crossing the highway at Penny Pines. PCT 50 runners will turn around and retrace their steps back to Red Tail Roost Trailhead, or you can follow the SD100 runners into the Laguna area, both will end up back at Red Tail Roost Trailhead!
RSVP: Again, please RSVP via Strava group SWTR so we know how many to expect.
It looks like the snow received up on the training route between Wednesday and Thursday will not have a chance to dissipate enough to allow for a training run. On top of that, road conditions may be dangerous and I want to make sure you all make it to race day!
We are cancelling tomorrow's training run on April 1st, and will let everyone know if we can find a suitable date to reschedule.
Training Run #2 is still scheduled for April 30th!

2023 is off to a great start thanks to everyone who ran or volunteered at and we need your help keeping the party going!
(50k, Marathon, and Half Marathon) is on March 11th, 2023 and we need some volunteers to help us get our runners across the finish line. If you’d like to help us at an aid station, please DM us, or shoot us an email at [email protected].
Shifts are between 3-5 hours, and all volunteers receive a free race entry to any SWTR race, free finish line food, and a shirt (if we have your size)!
Free dispersed camping is available on Friday night, and we will have a runner-decided award for the best aid station!

We are one week out from the second training run for and half marathon which happens on February 18th, 2023! All training runs meet under the Daley Ranch arch near the Dixon Lake dirt parking lot (free parking!).
Our second training run is this Saturday (1/7) at 7:30AM and will be 13.1 miles - a complete loop of the half marathon course!

Packet pickup for 2022 starts TODAY at 5:00PM at (NORTH PARK LOCATION ONLY). Packet pickup will be available for all three distances and will run through Thursday, July 14th at 2:00PM during regular business hours!
Don’t forget: 15% off most purchases (excludes watches and other fancy things) while in-store picking up your bib!
Bibs and shirts will still be available on race morning if you cannot make it to packet pickup prior to race day.

Hey Everyone,
Two exciting announcements regarding the this year!
1. We will be conducting a self-supported training run for anyone who wants to join us (entered in this year’s race or not!) on Saturday, April 23rd. We will begin at the Start/Finish location of the race (Boulder Oaks Campground), and you may go out as far as you’d like, and return whenever you’d like! We will not be putting up course markings, but as long as you stay on the PCT, you will be on the course! We will be at the Finish Line from 10AM-12PM serving food (burgers, drinks, etc.) contributed by SURF, and you can discuss the course or ask any questions you may have there! If interested, shoot us an email so we can get an accurate head count for food. Can’t wait to see you all there!
2. Our local trail work organization, TrailFit, has identified a few sections of the course that need some brush trimming. If you’d like to contribute some time and a little sweat helping them beautify and improve the trail, please send Ken Bonus ([email protected]) a message and he will give you the official registration link. April dates are 4/9, 4/16, and 4/23, and all trail work parties meet at 7:00AM.

Second Wind Trail Running is looking for volunteers to help us at our aid stations at (April 16th, 2022) and (May 14th, 2022). It’s a fun atmosphere and a great excuse to get some friends together for a good cause.
