How did you get started on your fitness journey?
I’ve never been to a gym before. I didn’t know what to do or how to approach a gym. I’ve wanted to start working out for a while now and focus on strength and mobility, but I didn’t know where to start. I live close to p360 north park and pass by all the time. I googled it and saw that they have small coach led classes and figured it would be a good introduction into fitness and a gym.
What’s your favorite thing about our community?
My favorite thing about p360 is the positivity. Everyone I’ve seen walk in the door has been welcomed, helped and encouraged. I always had a bad connotation with gyms, and the attitudes attached, but I was proved wrong with p360. I’ve made friends and genuinely look forward to my classes and seeing everyone.
What’s a recent fitness achievement you’re proud of?
My proudest achievement probably is this spotlight. I’ve tried to work really hard this last year and give the most I can to every class I come to. It’s addictive. To be noticed so early in my fitness journey, is the most encouragement I think I could get. Also in the last month I beat two of my three PR goals for the year early, 215 bench and 205 hang clean.
If you had to do only 1 exercise for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That’s a hard question. I would pick a complex, either hang clean and jerk, or hell trots. Either one is really humbling
What songs (or type of music) get you going for a workout??
I love 90s and 2000s hip hop and rap, 80s and 90s punk and hardcore. Definitely aging myself here but any hits from the early 2000s are just nostalgic, and great to work out to. I haven’t heard a bad playlist at p360.

How did you get started on your fitness journey?
My fitness journey was inspired by my twin brother. He transformed himself-losing 50lbs and gaining muscle and strength in 8 months after he joined Performance360. He literally shone with confidence and when I asked him how he did it, he encouraged me to try a class together. I’ve been committed ever since.
What is your favorite thing about our community?
My favorite thing about the community is the genuine culture of camaraderie, enthusiasm and encouragement.
What’s a recent fitness achievement that you’re proud of?
My proudest recent fitness achievement actually shows up in small but meaningful moments outside of the gym. Like when I can lift heavy groceries with ease, rearrange furniture without strain. Living with rheumatoid arthritis, I never believed I could be as strong, mobile and capable as I am now. It’s really empowering. But if I had to be specific, single arm bench pressing a 25lb dumbbell really made me smile on the inside. And the outside.
If you could only do one movement for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If I had to do only one exercise for the rest of my life I would choose the rowing machine. Strapping in makes me feel like I’m at the starting line of the Indy500.
What songs (or type of music) gets you going for a workout?
My workout jams are either hip-hop rap or EDM, there’s little in between. If it makes me wanna dance a little, I’m ready to go.
