WOW!!! Summer is upon us! We have some really fun camps planned. We have a week long Volleyball camp (July 18-22 and a second week of multi sport camp (July 25-29)! The camps will be in the mornings 9-12. Includes instruction, fitness training and nutrition and diet discussions. Camp size is small so one on one instruction is the norm. Hey Everyone,

Some of you may know that I am heavily involved with our local and super fun 5k race. This year the race is on a Sunday and the new course is going to be fantastic. The race starts and finishes at the new Village at the Pacific Highlands ranch and our post party will be immediately following and right next to the finish line.

Would your Student athlete like to try and run the 5k (3.1 miles) this year? If so, I have a great program designed for them to help meet that goal. Nearly 45% of our runners are under the age of 16 so they will fit right in with the other runners that participate in this great day. Please take advantage of the discount code above to get your family registered before the prices go up on 10/16. Also, please respond to my email to get more information on the program to make your son or daughters 5k goals are achieved. We have some time since the race is still 4 months away. But a slow and gradual training program is the best especially for kids as they learn how to run for distance instead of speed. My program will work on flexibility, overall strength and endurance as well as nutrition that factors into a good running program.

I will be offering Monday and Thursday classes. I am looking to run multi sport and volleyball clinics on those days. The times will be 4 to 5:15. Classes will start soon.

Please let me know if you are interested in signing up for either of these days. I would love to work with your son or daughter. Fit N Fun is a great alternative to the larger classes of the other fitness classes and volleyball clubs in the area. I offer small groups, 4-6 kids usually, so the one on one work enables your student athlete to really thrive.

We made it! The end of the school year is upon us. I hope you all had a fun and successful year.

I wanted to update you all that there is still space available in my 2 camps in July. Volleyball camp is July 13-17 from 9 to 12 noon and the multi-sport camp is July 20-24 from 9am to 12 noon. I have attached the flyers for your review. Both weeks will be a great way to get your kids moving and learn about fitness as a fun and important part of life. Please respond to my email to secure your spot and payment will be due on the first day of camp.

I also am available for small group training starting June 17th. Small group training can be a great way to work on agility, core strength or any sport specific training your child might be looking for. I have a way of working on skills that the kids usually think it is more like fun!

Here is a great idea and reminder from my friend Nutrition by Britin....I hope you all are having a fabulous and fit summer!

Snacks can be great energy boosters. When a craving hits you, try foods that are filling and satisfying, but also nutritious.
Here are some tips:
Tip #1: Snack on things that don’t come in a wrapper, like fresh fruit, vegetables or rice cakes with almond butter.
Tip #2: Make your own trail mix or blue corn chips with hummus.
Tip #3: You can also try “upgrading” your snack •If you are craving crunchy, upgrade from potato chips to raw carrots or rice crackers.
•If you are craving a candy bar, upgrade to nuts and dried fruit.
•Instead of a cup of coffee, upgrade to green tea.
•Instead of ice cream, upgrade to applesauce with cinnamon.
Snacking is enjoyable and there is a wide variety of healthful goodies for whatever you’re craving, be it sweet, crunchy, salty, creamy or spicy. Dive in, be creative and enjoy your snack attack.

IN honor of National Childhood Obesity awareness month...

Kids in Motion

By the time they reach high school, 64% of children are no longer physically active. Why?
If your kids fall within this group, you don’t have to sadly shake your head. You can set a good example, be a role model and do the right things so your kids will, too.
Get off the couch and get on a bike with your kids. Introduce them to exercise that’s fun. Eat healthy. Instead of high-calorie foods and snacks, turn to fruits and other healthy foods. And once you get kids moving in the direction of fitness, chances are they’ll keep going for the rest of their lives.
Start ‘em Young
Becoming a healthy adult starts with being a healthy child. Many chronic diseases of adulthood have their beginnings in childhood. For example, it is important for kids to build strong bones, so that by the time they’re in their 20s, their peak bone density will be higher and their risk of osteoporosis will be decreased.
There are also childhood diseases that can easily be prevented by proper diet and physical activity. Children can suffer from diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol and high blood pressure—these aren’t just adult ailments.
An hour of physical activity per day is recommended for children. It is also recommended that screen time (TV and computer time) be limited to two hours per day. Children who are fit can avoid the above health problems. They also do better in physical-performance tests. They have a stronger self-image, more self-confidence, less anxiety and stress and they demonstrate greater improvement in skill- and health-related fitness.
When you consider the facts, it makes good sense to encourage physical activity when your children are young. Parents, teachers and fitness professionals all have a role to play. Each can help kids think positively about exercise and motivate them to make regular physical activity a lifetime pursuit.


I am excited to announce I will be a part of the Women's Wellness Expo on Saturday, Sept. 29th! The expo is hosted by MODA by Sofia owner, Susan Massis Jentzsch, fitness instructor and designer of the high performance active wear line. Her Sorrento Valley fitness center MODAvate is celebrating the one year anniversary and has invited local health and wellness businesses to participate in an expo to celebrate a day of women and families coming together to be empowered to stay healthy and be motivated to live powerful lives!
The Expo is partnering with Mental Health Systems, a local non-profit that provides innovative and cost-effective mental health and drug and alcohol recovery services. A portion of the proceeds made from the event will go to MHS to support their programs. I am thrilled to be showcasing my services at an event supporting a great cause! The Women's Wellness Expo will take place on Saturday, September 29th from 1pm -4pm at MODAvate located at 11722 Sorrento Valley Road, Suite E, San Diego, CA 92121. I hope to see you there!
