“We cannot walk alone.” - Martin Luther King Jr.
I have a lot of learning to do. I know that I will never fully understand the same hurt, fear, frustration and disappointment that my Black brothers and sisters have faced, but I will walk with you.

Hi friends! Like everyone else, I am overwhelmed with the Coronavirus pandemic. I’ve been hearing stories of how this pandemic has affected lives, seeing empty shelves, scrambling to find toilet paper and on top of that trying to convince my dad and aunties to stay indoors throughout this mess. Getting your Asian elders to follow this demand is like herding cats! I thought that going to 3 different stores in search of 1 pack of toilet paper with no success was pretty sucky, but then I saw this post and it really fired me up. Before you go out to a beach or any public gathering please understand who/what you are affecting.
-All healthcare workers (Doctors, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, CNAs, Pharmacists, Environmental Services, Radiologists, Unit Secretaries and so much more) who have to work in the trenches 24 hours a day with limited personal protective equipment (masks, most importantly) to keep themselves safe and healthy while doing their ultimate best to keep others safe and healthy.
-The yoga instructors that cannot work because yoga studios have shut down in attempts to control the spread of the virus.
-The children who are forced to homeschool and who rely heavily on the structure of schools to receive speech therapy, occupational therapy, counseling, meals and do not have the luxury of WiFi to take the online classes provided by their school because they have a single parent who is furiously treading water trying to keep not only her/himself, but their children above water also. The internet is still a luxury for many people. The fact that you can read this on your phone/laptop is a luxury. Please remember that.
-The senior citizens that live independently with no family or limited familiarity with the internet that can order UberEats or go out as they please to buy their normal groceries and necessities.
-The people trying to better their lives by getting a US Citizenship or learn English at the Adult Schools that must postpone these goals and aspirations because the schools have temporarily closed.
-All the small businesses that have had to either lay people off or shut down completely.

Super bummed out fam. I was looking forward to showing you some new things and getting back on the pop-up shop grind, but as we all have experienced at some point in our lives, life just don’t play like that. I got sick🤒😭. I tried to make it all work out with rest, drinking lots of fluids, essential oils and positive thinking, but sometimes the body needs what the body needs: more straight up rest 😴. Justin and I won’t be partaking in the pop-up festivities today, but we still hope that you will find the time to visit the other vendors who have worked so very hard to bring you super special things! The owner of .sd is a real treat! Get a horchata latte🥛 and thank me later! See you next time friends!!! 🤗💛✨🎄💯🍋🌈🙌🏾

Hiya friends! It’s been a while since I posted on here, but I’m going to be honest and just say that the time was exactly what I needed 💛. I still don’t know what I’m doing and I’m still doing my best… still soul-searching and trying to figure out how to maneuver life 😅. YOLO, amirite?! 🙋🏻♀️
Even with the occasional bouts of self-doubt, nervous-laughing and all the requests to the universe to send signs that I should just find a better day job and perhaps even an undetermined sabbatical from paid creative ventures, I have STILL been getting sales, requests to do pop-ups AND NOW an invitation to do an interview for inspiring stories series of local entrepreneurs. I’ve been brushing off all the signs to stay persistent in the creative journey towards meaningful work, but now I think it’s loud and clear that I should keep going. I owe it to the people who need self-care, ✨joy and happiness✨ in their lives!!! Thank you to whoever nominated me, if that someone is out there🤗… Thank you to SDVoyager for this wonderful and humbling opportunity to share my story and inspire others🤗. Thank you to all my friends, family, teachers, vendors and customers who see me, who support what I’m doing and who always have encouraging words for me🤗. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your self-care journey🤗✨💛🍋! I hope that even when you think that you’re making all the wrong turns, you can still find the ✨joy and happiness✨ in the journey! Blessed af to have just wrapped up our last pop-up of 2018 with this past weekend! What a fun-filled Holiday Pop-Up that we were so lucky to be a part of 🎄💛. We loved meeting our neighboring vendors and promoting wellness and sustainability through our handmade goods all the while listening to the sweetest beats. Remember when Mandy Moore started off as a singer? Yeah, we almost forgot too, but reminded us 🎶🎵🎼.
THANK YOU AGAIN&AGAIN&AGAIN (x10000000) to all the small business/big dreamer supporters!!!! 🤗✨💛🍋 How could we do any of this without you?!! 🤟🏽
"Ultreya" is a Spanish word, derived from the original Latin, meaning Onward! It was in common use by pilgrims to greet and to encourage one another along the way. ❣️ THANK YOU ULTREYA COFFEE for having us! 🤗🤝💛

meraki [may-rah-kee] (adjective)
This is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe doing something with soul, creativity, or love — when you put “something of yourself” into what you’re doing, whatever it may be. 💕 @ Meráki Cafe

When your fave neighborhood cafe slides in your DM asking you to partake in their first holiday pop-up you say HECK YAS (but send a reply like half an hour later so you don’t seem too eager) 😸
