โš ๏ธ How much your friends and family love you

โš ๏ธ How often youโ€™ve been crushing your workouts

โš ๏ธ How hard you work at your job

Youโ€™re not a failure if you canโ€™t stick with your restrictive dietโ€ฆ

The DIET is the problem.

Not you, boo๐Ÿ˜˜

Instead of focusing on removing nutrients from your diet

Focus on what you can add.

Have protein, carbs and fats with every meal to avoid getting hangry and ultimately binge eating.

Donโ€™t let the New Yearโ€™s marketing fool you - restrictive diets are NOT healthy.

โ€œDream bodyโ€ in quotations because I think everyone trying to shrink their bodies would actually be healthier if they focused on how they FEEL instead of how they LOOKโ€ฆ

Not easy to lead with love when youโ€™ve been taught your whole life that youโ€™re not worthy.

Not impossible though.

If you could starve yourself and workout until your eyes bled in the name of โ€œhealthโ€

You can certainly feed yourself properly, rest enough and thank your body for everything it does to keep you alive DAILY๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Photo dump for the past 2 weeks. Iโ€™ve been kinda MIA on social because my bff Sophia came to visit and then I jetted off to New Hampshire for my grandfatherโ€™s 90th birthday party!!

Iโ€™m just a personal trainer worried about all yโ€™all running yourself ragged on the hamster wheel of hustle culture and diet culture, only to end up less healthy than when you started.

If it came down to choosing having enough sleep or getting my workout done, I would choose sleepโ€ฆ

Thoughts? Do you hit the gym even if you had a bad nightโ€™s sleep?

I couldnโ€™t believe how confident I felt when I finally had clothes that fit my body.

It solved several of my body image hangups all at once.

I no longerโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘‰Complained to my husband about how โ€œfatโ€ I felt

๐Ÿ‘‰Cried when getting dressed because nothing fit

๐Ÿ‘‰Stayed home because nothing looked good on my body

It also made me realize that many of my issues were self-inflicted.

I was extremely fatphobic and scared to change my clothing size.

Now my only regret is that I didnโ€™t do it sooner.

I know being able to afford new clothes is a privilege that many people donโ€™t have.

Some of my favorite outfits have come from thrifting, which is very budget friendly and leads to more unique styles that just canโ€™t be replicated at department stores!

Yesterday, my husband told me that I eat two bites and say Iโ€™m full now when we go out to eat.๐Ÿ˜‚

Thatโ€™s a wild exaggeration.

But I have made a 180 in my eating behaviors over the past year.

In the past, going out to eat meant ordering almost everything on the menu that sounded good and stuffing my face until I literally felt sick and looked pregnant because I was so bloated.๐Ÿคข

Clean Plate Club and gluttony were the name of the game.

When I started learning about and practicing Intuitive Eating, I realized that:

1๏ธโƒฃ Iโ€™m not a human trash can. Itโ€™s okay to take food home or throw it away. Even though I hate throwing food away, itโ€™s better than making myself feel sick. Now I order less initially because I can always order more if Iโ€™m still hungry.

2๏ธโƒฃ This isnโ€™t my ONLY CHANCE to eat this food. I donโ€™t believe in cheat days anymore, which means I can eat this whenever I want.

3๏ธโƒฃ These foods arenโ€™t โ€œbadโ€ and Iโ€™m not โ€œbeing badโ€ for eating them. Letting go of this restrictive mindset changed everything for me. Foods lose their magical power once they stop being off-limits in your mind. This goes for your favorite binge foods too.

4๏ธโƒฃ Dessert is way more enjoyable if Iโ€™m not already stuffed!๐Ÿ˜›๐Ÿฐ

Iโ€™ve seen this play out for my clients too.

Kassie was raised to clean her plate no matter what. Now she can go out to eat, listen to her hunger cues and pack food to go once sheโ€™s full.

Kara will literally order one drink and not even finish it sometimes!

P.S. I realize that itโ€™s an immense privilege to be able to practice Intuitive Eating. Especially now with inflation. IE has been life changing for me and Iโ€™m very grateful.
