Youโre not a failure if you canโt stick with your restrictive dietโฆ
The DIET is the problem.
Not you, boo๐
Instead of focusing on removing nutrients from your diet
Focus on what you can add.
Have protein, carbs and fats with every meal to avoid getting hangry and ultimately binge eating.
Donโt let the New Yearโs marketing fool you - restrictive diets are NOT healthy.

โDream bodyโ in quotations because I think everyone trying to shrink their bodies would actually be healthier if they focused on how they FEEL instead of how they LOOKโฆ
Not easy to lead with love when youโve been taught your whole life that youโre not worthy.
Not impossible though.
If you could starve yourself and workout until your eyes bled in the name of โhealthโ
You can certainly feed yourself properly, rest enough and thank your body for everything it does to keep you alive DAILY๐๐๐

Iโm just a personal trainer worried about all yโall running yourself ragged on the hamster wheel of hustle culture and diet culture, only to end up less healthy than when you started.
If it came down to choosing having enough sleep or getting my workout done, I would choose sleepโฆ
Thoughts? Do you hit the gym even if you had a bad nightโs sleep?

I couldnโt believe how confident I felt when I finally had clothes that fit my body.
It solved several of my body image hangups all at once.
I no longerโฆ
๐Complained to my husband about how โfatโ I felt
๐Cried when getting dressed because nothing fit
๐Stayed home because nothing looked good on my body
It also made me realize that many of my issues were self-inflicted.
I was extremely fatphobic and scared to change my clothing size.
Now my only regret is that I didnโt do it sooner.
I know being able to afford new clothes is a privilege that many people donโt have.
Some of my favorite outfits have come from thrifting, which is very budget friendly and leads to more unique styles that just canโt be replicated at department stores!

Yesterday, my husband told me that I eat two bites and say Iโm full now when we go out to eat.๐
Thatโs a wild exaggeration.
But I have made a 180 in my eating behaviors over the past year.
In the past, going out to eat meant ordering almost everything on the menu that sounded good and stuffing my face until I literally felt sick and looked pregnant because I was so bloated.๐คข
Clean Plate Club and gluttony were the name of the game.
When I started learning about and practicing Intuitive Eating, I realized that:
1๏ธโฃ Iโm not a human trash can. Itโs okay to take food home or throw it away. Even though I hate throwing food away, itโs better than making myself feel sick. Now I order less initially because I can always order more if Iโm still hungry.
2๏ธโฃ This isnโt my ONLY CHANCE to eat this food. I donโt believe in cheat days anymore, which means I can eat this whenever I want.
3๏ธโฃ These foods arenโt โbadโ and Iโm not โbeing badโ for eating them. Letting go of this restrictive mindset changed everything for me. Foods lose their magical power once they stop being off-limits in your mind. This goes for your favorite binge foods too.
4๏ธโฃ Dessert is way more enjoyable if Iโm not already stuffed!๐๐ฐ
Iโve seen this play out for my clients too.
Kassie was raised to clean her plate no matter what. Now she can go out to eat, listen to her hunger cues and pack food to go once sheโs full.
Kara will literally order one drink and not even finish it sometimes!

P.S. I realize that itโs an immense privilege to be able to practice Intuitive Eating. Especially now with inflation. IE has been life changing for me and Iโm very grateful.
